As spotted by a vigilant Redditor, any mention of TRION’s MOBA End of Nations has now vanished from their website.
End of Nations originally started life as an MMORTS and it actually showed some promise. TRION then removed Petroglyph as the developer with no explanation and moved development in-house.
TRION then decided to change the game and turn it into a MOBA. After playing both versions of the game I can safely say that the MOBA version was not particularly good and if they had stuck to their original idea it may have had some legs, especially since the online F2P C&C was also canned.
TRION issued a statement to clarify the game’s status but I think we can safely say that the End of Nations project is now dead.
“As we informed EON’s community last fall, internal development on End of Nations was put on hold in late 2013 while we evaluated potential paths forward for the title. We’re currently focusing the company’s energy and creativity on Rift, Defiance, Trove, ArcheAge, and some new projects we’ll be revealing soon”.
Why TRION Â would want to spend any more time on games such as Defiance I have no idea. Their catalogue of titles is not exactly strong and Trove is probably the only thing left that shows an ounce of promise.
