Dota 2 getting The Stanley Parable announcer pack

There’s another Dota 2 announcer pack coming, and this one’s a good’un: it’s The Stanley Parable. That’s right! You can have your Dota 2 matches announced by the dry, gently sardonic narrator of The Stanley Parable. Joy!

The news comes from the Twitter feed of The Stanley Parable writer Davey Wreden, who tapped out: “Sitting down with @HonestWilliam to begin writing the Stanley Parable Dota 2 announcer pack…” @HonestWilliam, for what it’s worth, is William Pugh. He also developed The Stanley Parable.

Alas, there’s not much more to this story than that. We can assume it’ll be a good few months before this announcer pack appears – it still has to be written, recorded, and then actually put into the game by Valve, none of which is likely to be done within the few days. On the plus side, that gives you plenty of time to play through the bizarre and hilarious first-person experience, in case you’ve yet to do that.
