Remnant 2’s final DLC expansion pack brings yet another Archetype to the table with the Warden. This Archetype has its own unique set of skills that, with the right build, can be incredibly useful solo and in a team.

Where to find the Warden Archetype in Remnant 2
As usual, the Warden Archetype is hidden away in the Dark Horizon Remnant 2 DLC. But once you have reached the Wayland Conservatory fast travel point, it’s pretty simple. Make your way through the DLC until you reach the Withered Necropolis and the Wayland Conservatory point.
From here, make your way forward, killing the enemies until you reach the edge of a cliff. Here, you will see a glider available. Using this glider, jump from the cliff and drift around to the right. It may look like certain death, but trust me.
Two updrafts will push you around the cliff face as you continue around to the right. Continue forward until you come across a gap in the wall. Enter here and kill the enemies within. You should now see a door on your left opening up onto a bridge.
Kill the enemies on the bridge, being extra careful of the rolling one. Once they are dealt with, cross to the other side and pick up the Command Module. This must now be brought to Wallace back at Ward 13 to unlock the new Warden Archetype in Remnant 2.
Best Warden build in Remnant 2
The Warden is quite an all-rounder in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon, but I found them to excel in shielding and healing. Although the summon also has an attack ability, the shielding or healing ones, paired with the Warden’s perk and trait, separated this Archetype from the rest.
Best Skill
I chose the healing drone skill for the Warden Archetype in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon. At first, I thought the shield would be preferable, but healing was more effective. The rate at which it heals makes boss fights much easier, allowing me to tank several hits and focus fire without worrying much.
Being able to deploy it to myself or allies makes it a great option for both solo play and team based action.
Best Secondary Archetype
I found that using close-range, heavy-hitting archetypes paired with the Warden build worked seamlessly in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon. At first, I thought the Warden would end up being a support/healing character, but I found that the drone, barrier trait, and Dynamic perk turned this Archetype into a complete tank.
Because of this, I chose a secondary archetype that stands and delivers firepower, allowing the Warden Archetype to keep defenses up. Both Challenger and Gunslinger are excellent pairings for a second Archetype.
Finding all the Archetypes in Remnant 2 can be a real challenge unless you know where to look.
Best weapons for Warden
Though there are many ways you can build the Warden, I found success in using close-range weapons, especially when paired with a close-range Secondary Archetype.
- Primary
- XMG57 BoneSaw – I am a sucker for this gun in Remnant 2, and I found it worked like a dream with Warden. The huge firepower can be a bit of a downfall for a build with low health, but because of Warden’s boosted health or shield, the long reloads and reduced mobility while using this gun can be mitigated.
- Secondary
- Tech 22 – This automatic pistol is a lot of fun and a bit of a bullet hose. However, at close range, which is how I found my Warden Build often playing in Remnant 2, it is devastating.
- Melee
- Iron Greatsword – If you have given this rusty hunk of steel a swing in Remnant 2 already, you will understand why this is the chosen weapon of a build like Warden. Close-range devastation with the option of getting experimental with the mod.
