Blizzard’s Servers ‘Take A Hammering’ Following Cataclysm Launch

As the world awakes to a new World of Warcraft expansion, it has been reported that Blizzard’s servers have taken a battering after ‘millions of people attempted to log in to the game’.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the third expansion to the hugely popular MMO and has launched worldwide, with GAME in Leicester Square hosting the UK’s official launch last night.
Blizzard developers were on hand to answer questions and sign copies of the game as eager fans waited in freezing conditions.
The event was hosted by Gadget Show star Jason Bradbury.
As soon as the servers launched in Europe, players found themselves either unable to connect to the servers or were continuously disconnected. Blizzard also released an FAQ to inform players of changes they should expect to see in the expansion once they had logged in.
