How to reach Ancient Guanyin Temple
The first secret area can be reached in the game’s first chapter. To reach the Ancient Guanyin Temple, players must interact with and ring three large bells scattered throughout Black Wind Mountain. We have a complete guide on all the locations of the bells, but we’ll discuss below where to find them.
Bell #1 location
The first bell can be found in the same arena where the optional boss Guangzhi resides. Start from the Outside the Forest shrine and keep going straight until you reach a bridge. Go over the bridge to find the Guangzhi boss and a bell. Interact with the bell to ring it.
Bell #2 location
The second bell can be found near the Marsh of the White Mist shrine in Bamboo Grove. Turn around after teleporting to the shrine and continue down the small green trail. Once you reach the end of the trail, take a right and go up the stairs to find the second bell. Make sure to ring the bell.
Bell #3 location
The third and final bell can also be found near the Marsh of the White Mist shrine. Teleport to the shrine and go forward down the wooden walkway until you reach a body of water. Instead of going straight towards Black Wind Cave, take a left to reach a hidden area where the bell is located.
After ringing the third and final bell, your character will be teleported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple secret area.
How to reach Kingdom of Sahali
The second secret area of Black Myth Wukong becomes available in Chapter 2, called Kingdom of Sahali. Players can reach the Kingdom of Sahali by completing the drunken boar’s questline.
Before we get into completing the questline, let’s first discuss how to find this hidden NPC. From the Rockrest Flat Keeper Shrine of Fright Cliff, head north and you’ll find an opening in the mountainside with a gate blocking the path. Destroy the gate and continue forward until you find the drunken boar hanging out near a large boulder. Speak with the drunken boar to begin the quest.
After speaking with the drunken boar for the first time, the next step in the quest is to reach the Windrest Bridge Keeper Shrine. From this location, continue over the bridge and then take a left when you reach the houses. Next, take a right to enter the courtyard where you’ll find a glowing keg in one of the houses. Destroy the keg to acquire the “Sobering Stone” key item.
With the Sobering Stone in your inventory, it’s time to return to the drunken boar and give it to him. So head back to where you first spoke with the drunken boar, just north of the Rockrest Flat Keeper Shrine, and exhaust his dialogue to progress the quest.
The next step in the quest occurs at the Temple Entrance Keeper Shrine of the Crouching Tiger Temple. Head up the stairs and take the second right to find the boar in a new location.
Speak to the boar and hand over one Jade Lotus and then exhaust his dialogue. If you don’t have a Jade Lotus, you can easily purchase one from the store at any shrine.
Lastly, return to the area where you began the questline and first met the drunken boar near the Rockrest Flat Keeper Shrine. Here you will find the boar’s brother, who you must defeat in a boss fight. Once you defeat the boss, follow the boar to the large door and open it to enter the Kingdom of Sahali secret area in Black Myth Wukong.
How to reach Zodiac Village
The next secret area is Zodiac Village and it can be unlocked in Chapter 3. Head west from the North Shore of the Bitter Lake shrine to reach a lizard-looking character named Chen Loong in a body of water. Run up to the lizard to activate a boss fight.
After defeating the boss, rest at a Keeper Shrine and return to the area where you fought him to find Chen Loong standing next to a small house.
Speak to Chen and he’ll give you a hint that he wants you to grab a pill for him. To get what he’s asking for, go to the Cellar Keeper Shrine of Yellow Wind Ridge and speak to Xu Dog. Select the “Talk” option until the option to talk disappears. Xu Dog will hand over the item Chen Loong is looking for.
Finally, return to Chen Loong and deliver the goods. A short cutscene will commence and Chen will transport you to the secret area Zodiac Village. This area brings all vendors together and even has a Blacksmith.
How to reach Purple Cloud Mountain
The next secret area in Black Myth Wukong is Purple Cloud Mountain in Chapter 4. Players can reach Purple Cloud Mountain by defeating the Venom Daoist side boss twice in two different locations.
Venom Daoist can first be found near the Pool of the Shattered Shade Keeper Shrine in Webbed Hollow. From the shrine, proceed up the path to find a large spider nest hanging down from a tree and destroy it. Destroying the nest will spawn the Venom Daoist boss.
After defeating Venom Daoist, you’ll encounter him again near the Court of Illumination Keeper Shrine. Starting from the Court of Illumination, turn around and continue straight through the small building, leading to stairs that go up a hill. Progress up the stairs until you reach a fork in the path. Take a left here and go down the rocky hill leading to a cave to encounter the Venom Daoist boss.
Defeating the Venom Daoist at this location will automatically spawn your character at Purple Cloud Mountain.
How to reach Bishui Cave
The last secret area of Black Myth Wukong is called Bishui Cave and players can encounter it in Chapter 5. Bushui Cave can be unlocked by completing the Ox’s Five Elements questline.
To start the Ox’s Five Elements quest, progress through Chapter 5 until you reach the Ashen Pass 1 Keeper Shrine. Starting from this shrine, go to the next area on the main path to trigger the Pale Axe Stalwart miniboss. Defeat this miniboss and then rest and respawn at the Ashen Pass 1 shrine. Return to where you fought Pale Axe Stalwart to speak with him and exhaust his dialogue.
Pale Axe Stalwart will task you with killing five Elemental Carts, but the good news is that three of them are main bosses to the story and are unmissable. There are two Elemental Carts that you need to go out of your way to find.
Continue through the main path of Chapter 5 and reach the Emerald Hall Keeper Shrine, where Pale Axe Stalwart has relocated. On your way to this location, you will have already defeated three carts on the main path.
Speak to Pale Axe Stalwart at Emerald Hall and exhaust his dialogue to move on to the next step in the questline. If you’re having trouble finding him, just know that he’s in the same room where the Crimson-Silver Cart boss occurs.
Next, you need to teleport to the Valley Entrance shrine. From the Valley Entrance Shrine, proceed down the path and enter the lava on the right-hand side. In the corner of the lava pool, you will discover a cart stuck, so interact with it and pull the string to free it. Once it’s free, speak to the cart and exhaust all dialogue.
The last step in the Element quest involves defeating the “Rusty Gold Cart” boss. Rusty Gold Cart can be found near the Cooling Slope Keeper Shrine beside a giant frozen gate. You can reach this area after finishing the encounter with the giant spiked ball, as it will create a new pathway leading to the frozen gate.
Approach the gate to spawn the boss and defeat it in battle. After defeating the elemental cart, speak to the Ox and exhaust his dialogue. Lastly, approach the frozen gate to reach the secret area, “Bishui Cave.”
