Visions of Mana character guide: Best Elemental Vessel (class), Ability Seeds, and Strategies

In Visions of Mana, you’re given lots of characters, classes, and Ability Seeds, for a huge number of team compositions and builds. To find success, you’ll need to know the best builds and teams in the game.

Best build for Val in Visions of Mana

Val is the first party member you’ll get in Visions of Mana, and he’s one of the most useful and consistent party member you’ll get. So it’s wise to make sure he’s as strong as he can be. Let’s see the best build for Val in Visions of Mana.

Best Elemental Vessel

Interestingly, the Rune Knight class is the best for Val (equipped with the Wind Elemental Vessel, the Sylphid Boomerang) as it grants Val a high attack damage with Saber Magic. The Sylphid Boomerang is also a powerful vessel in its own right and allows him to deal even more damage.

It’s worth noting that the Duelist class from the Water Elemental Vessel is also very viable, as it has a high base damage and can freeze enemies. I seem to switch back and forth between these vessels depending on the strategy and enemies I’m facing.

Best Ability Seeds

Best strategy

When controlling Val, make sure that you’re making an effort to control the battlefield. Considering his high HP, you can try to coral and aggro the enemies to take the heat off your allies. Then, using his varying combo chains, you can attack these enemies at the same time.

If you are to control someone else, then make sure his settings are set to the following:

• Moves/Magic: Reserve Resources
• Items: Reserve Resources

When you’re not controlling Val make sure he’s targeting the same enemy and not others so he doesn’t exert himself and put himself in dangerous positions. Also it’ll mean that your other teammates are more focused with Val helping out taking on the same enemies.

Best build for Careena in Visions of Mana

Careena is a decent DPS character that can be used reliably until you unlock Palamena (sorry Careena fans, that’s just how it is). The following build will make her exceptionally powerful, however, keeping her viable. Here is the best Careena build in Visions of Mana.

Best Elemental Vessel

The best Elemental Vessel for Careena is the Salamando Candle (Fire) as that gives her the Divine Fist class. This class can buff her allies’ attack and has a great damage output itself. With high class strike damage, any enemies weak to Fire will be having a bad time.

You can also use the Maverick class (Dark Elemental Vessel), as it’s a great crowd controlling class that can debuff enemies and buff herself. Also, it comes with self-healing, making this a reliable class to use.

Best Ability Seeds

You’ll want to keep an eye out for the following Ability Seeds for Careena in Visions of Mana:

These Ability Seeds for Careena enhance her DPS capabilities and boost her class, enhancing her damage output. This can be especially viable for the Maverick class considering she’ll be striking more enemies more frequently.

Best team composition

Careena is best used in a team with Val as the tank and Julei as the healer. With Julei keeping everyone alive and Val taking the heat off Careena, she’ll be free to deal her damage in peace.

Despite the best class for Val being the Rune Knight, for Careena’s sake, it may be worth equipping him with the Aegis class for the taunting and extra defense purposes.

Best strategy

When playing as Careena, it’s important to buff your allies and debuff your enemies right away. Starting out fights in this way will swing fights in your favor instantly, and can dictate the success of the battle.

When you’re controlling someone else, however, make sure her settings are set to these ones:

Best Elemental Vessel

The best class for Morley is the Nightblade (Moon Elemental Vessel), naturally, thanks to its incredibly high critical hit rate and increased critical hit damage. With the Luna Globe itself also slowing down enemies, you’ll have an easier time controlling the battlefield.

None of the other classes really come close for Morley, so don’t bother.

You’ll want the following Ability Seeds to be equipped to Morley for maximum Effectiveness:

For Morley, you’ll want Val and Julei on your team.

Although I’d generally recommend Val to be equipped with the Aegis class for defensive and taunting reasons, I’ve seen reports of others recommending the Liege class to increase the party’s defence. This is incredibly useful in Morley and Julei’s case, although you may need to experiment to see what works for you.

Best strategy

When playing as Morley, you’ll need to be careful in your approach. When in the thick of combat, make sure you’re spamming your combo moves. These are exceptionally powerful and can be quite quick, so make sure you’re exclusively using these.

Additionally, his variety of trap magic can prove useful so long as you’re using the elements that your enemies are weak to.

When not controlling Morley, you’ll want to ensure his strategy is set to the following:

Morley is a glass canon, so make sure he’s close to you or your tank at all times so he doesn’t get enemy aggro and swiftly taken down.

Best build for Palamena in Visions of Mana

Palamena is a member that has high magic damage. With the following build, you’ll have her engaging in powerful melee and ranged attacks that’ll take out any foes in her way. Here is the best Palamena build in Visions of Mana.

Best Elemental Vessel

Palamena’s best class is the Magus class, given by the Earth Elemental Vessel. This class has a high intelligence stat, which is great for her casts, and allows her to engage in powerful melee attacks. The mix of spells and melee makes Palamena versatile and ready for any opponent.

The Beastleader class (available through the Wood Elemental Vessel) can also be viable as she can summon creatures with no casting time. The range of summons do allow for versatility, and it’s rather fun to play with.

Best Ability Seeds

Here are the strongest Ability Seeds that you’ll want equipped on Palamena:

Using these Ability Seeds will boost her class and will make her a more powerful caster. Thanks to the defence boost of the Earth class, her survivability doesn’t need to be supplemented through her Ability Seeds that much, allowing for a greater offensive focus.

Best team composition

Naturally, as a high DPS character, Palamena is best grouped with Val and Julei, as we touched on in Val’s best team composition.

If you’d rather Val be a tank rather than a Rune Knight damage dealer, you can equip him with the Aegis class for taunting and higher defense. Sacrificing a bit of damage for a stronger tank will allow Palamena to more comfortably annihilate her enemies.

Best strategy

If you’re playing as Palamena or not, make sure to have spells equipped that are strong against the enemies you’re facing. When controlling her, make sure to stay away from the action and let Val soak up the damage so you can safely cast your spells and rain destruction on your enemies.

If you’re controlling another member, then make sure to set her strategy to the following:

Ensuring Palamena stays away from the action is important, although whether she targets the same enemies as your tank or not is dependant on the situation. It can be useful to have her eliminating support and ranged enemies whilst your tank keeps the melee foes busy.

Best build for Julei in Visions of Mana

Julei is the final party member you’ll come across, and she focuses on healing the party. She can become the most powerful member of your team if you set her up right. Let’s go over her best build in Visions of Mana.

Best Elemental Vessel

Julei’s best class is the High Cleric, which is available after giving her the Lumina Lantern, the Light Elemental Vessel. This is because she can revive the party and has other healing abilities that will keep you all in the fight for much longer.

The next best class would be the Sage, available through the Wood Elemental Vessel due to the healing abilities she also has with that class.

As Julei is a fantastic support character, her ideal teammates are Val and Palamena, as you should be used to by now. Thanks to their combined fighting ability, Julei will be able to keep them in the fight to keep dealing huge damage.

Once again, it may be wise in this team composition to equip Val with the Aegis class to focus on being a tank, although, again, you can leave him as the Rune Knight to have two damage dealers.

Best strategy

If you are to control Julei, make sure that you are keeping her as far away from the action as possible, and prioritize healing your most wounded and your tank.

If you aren’t controlling Julei, then make sure her settings are modified to:
