One of the most popular features of NCAA 14, released over 10 years ago, was the ability to completely edit an entire team in Dynasty Mode. Things have changed with NCAA 25, though. Here are all the editing restrictions in EA College Football 25.
EA College Football 25: All editing restrictions
Unfortunately, there are a ton of editing restrictions for NIL players in College Football 25. If you aren’t familiar with NIL, it stands for “Name, Image, and Likeness” and it’s the right for college athletes to control and profit from their name.
Mostly all players in College Football 25 are NIL players, leading to a ton of restrictions for editing them in the game. The Player Bio, Rating, Attributes, and Physique sections of Edit Player are completely off-limits and greyed out, meaning you can’t adjust anything within those categories. The only tab that is available for editing is Apparel, which includes purely cosmetic adjustments such as Hand Gear, Torso, Feet, etc.
However, if you select a player that isn’t considered “NIL,” then you’ll be able to edit him much further. For example, I found a Fullback named Kendall Tobias-Mobley on Missouri, who doesn’t seem to be a real-life player, and I was able to edit almost everything about him. The only exception was that I couldn’t edit School, Uniform Number, Handedness, Hometown, or State. Everything else was fair game, though.
In other words, if you want to have more freedom when editing a character in College Football 25 Dynasty Mode, then search around the roster until you find a player that allows it. More likely than not it is a player who is low on the roster, is fake, and isn’t actually on a real-world roster. Just a heads up, there are very few.
I find this to be a huge letdown since editing a high rated player at a big-time school in NCAA 14 was one of my favorite things to do. Still, these editing restrictions may have been the only way for the NCAA games to make a return and if that’s the case, I’ll live with it.
