While there isn’t an open world to explore in Zenless Zone Zero, there are still challenges and collectibles to find in each of the game’s areas. Completing these challenges will earn you Mewmew Medals, which will grant you Denny, upgrade materials, and most importantly, Polychrome.

How to Earn Mewmew Medals in Zenless Zone Zero
You can earn Mewmew Medals by completing challenges and speaking to Officer Mewmew behind the newsstand located across the street from the Video Store and Noodle Shop on Sixth Street. Officer Mewmew will approach you early in the ZZZ main storyline, so just keep chipping away at missions if you haven’t met him yet.
Once you’ve met Officer Mewmew, you can speak to him at any time to view any available challenges. Some of these require you to complete side quests, some task you with finding a set of collectibles, and others require you to locate and speak to stray Bangboo. These are typically only available at certain times of day, so read the challenge descriptions carefully and plan ahead.
Officer Mewmew’s challenges are divided into pages, and each zone has multiple pages to complete. You only need to complete a certain number of challenges per page to advance to the next one, but it’s still a good idea to fully complete each page to maximize your Polychrome gains.
At launch, there are 96 Mewmew Medals to collect in Zenless Zone Zero. More will surely be added to the game as new updates are released, so check back often to see what’s new!
