Our selection of Warlock builds are in no particular order but fulfill a broad range of playstyles from heavy offense to support roles. No other Class in the game fills that support niche like a Warlock, so let’s start with an exciting build enabled by a Final Shape Exotic:

Speaker’s Sight build

The Speaker’s Sight is arguably the coolest Final Shape Exotic armor piece. This incredible Warlock helmet augments your Healing Grenades so they spawn healing turrets. If you’re after a unique take on the support role, this is the build for you.

As for your gameplay loop, throw healing Grenades when you enter combat to cure yourself and spawn a turret. You can also use your Phoenix Dive to grant Cure and Restoration to your Fireteam. While this is a support build, you’re no slouch in the damage department, thanks to the Hellion Aspect.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Touch of Flame – Your Grenades have extended functionality.
  • Hellion – Activate your Class ability to summon a Solar mortar that lobs flaming projectiles at distant targets.

Fragments

  • Ember of Benevolence
  • Ember of Empyrean
  • Ember of Solace
  • Ember of Mercy

Abilities

  • Super Ability – Song of Flame
  • Class Ability – Phoenix Dive
  • Movement Ability – Balanced Glide
  • Melee Ability – Incinerator Snap
  • Grenade – Healing Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Speaker’s Sight Helmet (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Hand Cannon

Phoenix Protocol Build

All Warlock Well of Radiance builds got nerfed pretty hard in The Final Shape. That said, Wells are still helpful, although you must be more tactical with their placement. If you’re smart with your Super, this Phoenix Protocol build can give you a ridiculous amount of uptime.

The gameplay loop focuses on having your Super live as fast as possible and spending it on as many busy encounters as possible. The Phoenix Protocol gives you Super Energy based on how many kills are scored from your Well by your Fireteam.

A Solar weapon isn’t strictly necessary, but it synergizes with some of our Fragments. While you don’t have an offensive Super ability, your team will love you for your unmatched Restoration effects.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Touch of Flame – Your Grenades have extended functionality.
  • Icarus Dash – You can dodge while airborne. Rapidly defeating targets while airborne cures you.

Fragments

  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Solace
  • Ember of Ashes
  • Ember of Empyrean

Abilities

  • Super – Well of Radiance
  • Class Ability – Healing Rift
  • Movement Ability – Balanced Glide
  • Melee Ability – Incinerator Snap
  • Grenade – Solar Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic Weapons

  • Phoenix Protocol Chest Armor (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon
  • Dragon’s Breath Solar Rocket Launcher

Sunbracer Build

No Solar guide would be complete without a Sunbracer build for the Warlock. The playstyle here is all about lighting up the battlefield with Solar grenade spam. We use Firesprites and our Fragments to trigger Restoration for survivability.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Touch of Flame – Your Grenades have extended functionality.
  • Icarus Dash – Dodge quickly while airborne and gain an additional dodge charge with Heat Rises.

Fragments

  • Ember of Empyrean
  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Mercy
  • Ember of Ashes

Abilities

  • Super – Well of Radiance
  • Class Ability – Phoenix Dive
  • Movement Ability – Balanced Glide
  • Melee Ability – Incinerator Snap
  • Grenade – Solar Grenades

  • Sunbracer Gauntlets (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon
  • Dragon’s Breath Solar Rocket Launcher

3 Best Hunter Solar builds in Destiny 2

Solar Hunter

Solar Hunters are eating well in The Final Shape with a shiny new Exotic Sniper Rifle, which feels like it was made for the class. Naturally, we’re making the most of it, so let’s start with a build using one of the most iconic Exotic’s in the entire game:

Celestial Nighthawk Build

If I had my own way, every Hunter build in this guide would be about the Celestial Nighthawk. This phenomenal helmet augments our Golden Gun Super ability to fire one massively powerful shot instead of three weaker ones. Hilariously, this Exotic perk also affects the Still Hunt Sniper Rifle and its own Golden shots.

While lacking a little in the defensive department, you’re a DPS monster with this build. Your goal is to play hard and fast and pick fights with the biggest baddies in any group. Good luck!

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • On Your Mark – Precision Final Blows grant you and nearby allies increased weapon handling and reload speed for a short duration. Stacks up to three times. We also gain an additional Fragment slot with this Aspect.
  • Gunpowder Gamble – Defeat Targets with Solar abilities, debuffs, or weapons to charge up an improvised Solar Explosive. You can throw this like a grenade and even shoot it in midair.

Fragments

  • Ember of Combustion
  • Ember of Empyrean
  • Ember of Ashes
  • Ember of Solace
  • Ember of Torches

Abilities

  • Super – Golden Gun
  • Class Ability – Marksman’s Dodge
  • Movement Ability – Triple Jump
  • Melee Ability – Knife Trick
  • Grenade – Healing Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Celestial Nighthawk Helmet (mandatory)
  • Still Hunt Exotic Sniper Rifle (mandatory)

Blade Barrage build

The Blade Barrage Build is a massive departure from the Golden Gun and Celestial Nighthawk. That said, you can still kick out massive damage numbers. Our Aspects, Fragments, and abilities synergize so well that you can rock any weapons you like without affecting the build.

As we’re Super-centric, our gameplay loop relies on getting and using Blade Barrage as much as possible.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Gunpowder Gamble – Defeat Targets with Solar abilities, debuffs, or weapons to charge up an improvised Solar Explosive. You can throw this like a grenade and even shoot it in midair.
  • Knock ‘Em Down – Your Solar Supers are enhanced. While Radiant, throwing knife final blows refund melee energy.

Fragments

  • Ember of Benevolence
  • Ember of Mercy
  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Torches

Abilities

  • Super – Blade Barrage
  • Class Ability – Acrobat’s Dodge
  • Movement Ability – Triple Jump
  • Melee Ability – Proximity Explosive Knife
  • Grenade – Thermite Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Shards of Galanor Gauntlets (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon

Golden Gun Crucible build

Our final Hunter build in this guide is special, as it’s PvP-focused, although it can also be used in PvE. We’re using the Golden Gun the traditional way this time, as its multiple shots are lethal in the Crucible.

We also have easy access to Radiance, which gives our weapons a valuable damage buff.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • On Your Mark – Precision final blows grant you and nearby allies increased weapon handling.
  • Knock ‘Em Down – Your Solar Supers are enhanced. While Radiant, throwing knife final blows refund melee energy.

Fragments

  • Ember of Solace
  • Ember of Torches
  • Ember of Benevolence
  • Ember of Tempering

Abilities

  • Super – Golden Gun
  • Class Ability – Acrobat’s Dodge
  • Movement Ability – Triple Jump
  • Melee Ability – Proximity Explosive Knife
  • Grenade – Tripmine Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Fr0st EE5 Leg Armor
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon

3 Best Titan Solar builds in Destiny 2

9 Best Solar Builds in Destiny 2: Warlock, Hunter, Titan
Screenshot: PC Invasion

I play every class, but there’s a special place in my heart for the Titan. Let me share three incredible Solar builds I’ve had a ton of success with, even if I can’t bear to look at the Exotic armor of our first loadout.

Precious Scars build

The Precious Scars build is easy to use and deals ridiculous damage. You’re also surprisingly tanky, thanks to our Exotic helmet’s perk. Every Solar kill you land will grant a welcome burst of Restoration, so you’re rewarded for a hyper-aggressive playstyle.

If you score Solar kills, you can stay in the fight and deal increased damage thanks to the Roaring Flames Aspect. You will need a solid Solar weapon for this build to pop off, but the Sunshot is as devastating as ever, and the Polaris Lance is perfect for mid to long-range combat.

With this build, you may look like an ugly duckling, but you have enough survivability to make a Well of Radiance Warlock blush.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Sol Invictus – Solar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating scorched targets creates Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot.
  • Roaring Flames – Final blows with Solar abilities or ignitions increase the damage of your Solar abilities. The effect of Roaring Flames can stack up to three times.

Fragments

  • Ember of Empyrean
  • Ember of Benevolence
  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Torches

Abilities

  • Super – Hammer of Sol
  • Class Ability – Towering Barricade
  • Movement Ability – Strafe Lift
  • Melee Ability – Hammer Strike
  • Grenade – Thermite Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Precious Scars Helmet (mandatory)
  • Polaris Lance Solar Scout Rifle
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon

Synthoceps Build

The Synthoceps embody the trademark Titan playstyle of punching every problem into oblivion. These Exotic gauntlets give us bonus melee and Super damage while surrounded and serve as an excellent base for the build. Your gameplay loop for this build is spamming your abilities up close as much as possible.

The Consecration Aspect gives you a powerful Slam attack to play with, and it synergizes with the damage bonus from Roaring Flames. You’re pretty tanky, although I do recommend the Healing Grenades in case you overextend.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Consecration – While sliding, your charged melee launches a wave of Solar energy forward. While airborne, activate your charged melee again to slam into the ground and create a second wave of Solar energy. If your opponent is scorched, they ignite when hit by the Solar wave.
  • Roaring Flames – Final blows with Solar abilities or ignitions increase the damage of your Solar abilities. The effect of Roaring Flames can stack up to three times.

Fragments

  • Ember of Benevolence
  • Ember of Char
  • Ember of Torches
  • Ember of Searing

Abilities

  • Super – Burning Maul
  • Class Ability – Towering Barricade
  • Movement Ability – Strafe Lift
  • Melee Ability – Throwing Hammer
  • Grenade – Healing Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggest Exotic weapons

  • Synthoceps Exotic Gauntlets (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon
  • Polaris Lance Solar Scout Rifle
  • Dragon’s Breath Solar Rocket Launcher

Pyrogale Gauntlets Build

The Pyrogale Gauntlets are as good as they sound and augment our Burning Maul and Consecration slam abilities. To get the most out of our Exotic armor, we’re using both in a playstyle heavily reliant on our devastating slam attacks.

You’re not tied to any particular weapons with the Pyrogale build, but make sure to use your powered melee whenever it’s off cooldown.

Fragments

  • Ember of Mercy
  • Ember of Searing
  • Ember of Char
  • Ember of Ashes

Abilities

  • Super – Burning Maul
  • Class Ability – Towering Barricade
  • Movement Ability – Strafe Lift
  • Melee Ability – Hammer Strike
  • Grenade – Healing Grenade

Exotic Armor and suggested Exotic weapons

  • Pyrogale Gauntlets (mandatory)
  • Sunshot Solar Handcannon
  • Dragon’s Breath Solar Rocket Launcher

These builds are all exceptionally powerful, but you’re not invincible. On top of the loadouts above, I recommend trying to reach 100 points in Resilience for all classes. I’m a big fan of 100 points in Discipline for Grenades, and Recovery is another valuable stat. At the time of writing, Mobility is pretty useless for any Class besides the Hunter, so choose your gear appropriately.

If you’re experimenting with Prismatic builds, keep in mind that the Fragments aren’t created equally. Some are valuable for any build, while others have niche applications.
