Titans have arguably the best Exotics in The Final Shape. If you want to turn your humble Barricade into a rocket salvo, let me show you how to get the Hazardous Propulsion Titan Exotic and the best builds for it in Destiny 2.
How to get the Hazardous Propulsion Exotic Chest Armor in Destiny 2
You can get the Hazardous Propulsion from Master Rahool in the Tower as part of his Exotic Focusing service. Unfortunately, Exotic Focusing isn’t available immediately, and you must reset your rank with the Cryptarch to unlock it. You can increase your rank by decoding engrams with Master Rahool, but this will take some time.
Once you hit level 16 with Rahool, you can Focus the Hazardous Propulsion with an Exotic Cipher and 10,000 Glimmer. I recommend having an Armor Mod equipped to your Ghost to get the best stat spread possible.
What is the Hazardous Propulsion in Destiny 2?
The Hazardous Propulsion is a Titan-exclusive Exotic Chest armor that fires a volley of rockets when you deploy your Barricade. You load rockets by landing precision hits, although it doesn’t take much work to do so. The rocket salvo is pretty strong, as they track targets and deal decent damage.
You also gain a sizeable damage boost to Rocket Launchers, which rewards that explosive playstyle. One great thing about this Exotic armor is you can get value from it, whatever you’re using, as long as you have Rockets. Still, here’s a build that absolutely slaps for solo or group play.
Titan Hazardous Propulsion Build
Aspects
- Banner of War – Defeat an enemy with a melee attack, finisher, or sword to raise a Banner of War that pulses with healing energy. Sword and melee damage is also increased.
- Into the Fray – Destroying a Tangle or casting your Super grants Woven Mail to you and nearby allies.
Fragments
- Thread of Warding – Picking up an Orb of Power grants Woven Mail.
- Thread of Finality – Finishers make Threadlings.
- Thread of Transmutation – Weapon final blows create a Tangle while you have Woven Mail.
- Thread of Mind – Defeating Suspended targets grants class ability energy
Even though the build has seen multiple nerfs since its inception, Banner of War is still exceptionally powerful. Few other builds boast the same level of sustain, and one melee kill is all it takes to trigger massive amounts of health regeneration. Oh, your team will love you as those healing buffs work for them, too.
We use Thread of Warding for easy access to Woven Mail which makes us even harder to kill. I don’t often recommend Thread of Mind, but we want to see our class ability more often, and it’s an excellent Fragment to help with that.
Abilities and Weapons
Abilities
- Super – Bladefury
- Class Ability – Towering Barricade
- Jump – Strafe Lift
- Melee – Frenzied Blade
- Grenade – Grapple Grenade
Weapons
- Midnight Coup Kinetic Handcannon
- Indebted Kindness Arc Sidearm
- Apex Predator or Gjallarhorn
You can honestly go with any abilities, as they have no bearing on the build. I like Towering Barricade for the extra protection, but Hazardous Propulsion also works with Rally Barricade if you prefer.
As for our weapons, here’s where we can sprinkle some spice. You can use any Kinetic weapon you like, although the Midnight Coup is a phenomenal primary. The Indebted Kindness is a Sidearm, but it’s a Rocket Sidearm and works with Hazardous Propulsion. We can get over 30% extra rocket damage with this Exotic, which is a tremendous buff for an already fantastic weapon.
Finally, you can use any Rocket Launcher you like, but you can’t go wrong with the Gjallarhorn or a crafted Apex Predator. Mine has Enhanced Reconstruction and Bait and Switch and is easily one of my best weapons.
If you’re a fellow Titan enjoyer, make sure you snag the Wishful Ignorance Exotic Gauntlets, as they make Banner of War Titans even more ridiculous.
