Are you experiencing lag issues while trying to play MultiVersus? I’m in the same boat, and since lag can get quite annoying here’s how you can fix MultiVersus lagging.
MultiVersus: How to fix lag
While this is mainly targeted towards PC players, you may also be playing on console and could find these tips to be helpful. I’m only experiencing lag in the main menus, but it’s still just as annoying as experiencing lag during matches. Here are some ways you can fix lagging in MultiVersus.
Lower graphics settings
Your first step to fixing lag in MultiVersus is to lower some of your graphics settings. Perhaps your PC isn’t fully equipped to handle MultiVersus.
Tweaking some of the graphics settings to make it run at lower settings may work in your favor. Although MultiVersus isn’t a high-fidelity game, this could still solve your issue.
Check server status
Perhaps it’s not you, it may just be the MultiVersus servers acting up. Whether you’re playing on launch or much later, make sure to check the MultiVersus server status online.
You can do this by reading its posts on Twitter/X and seeing if it posted about server connection issues. At this time, MultiVersus isn’t available to check through Downdetector, but perhaps in the future, you can check this website for self-reported server issues.
Restart MultiVersus/internet
Oftentimes, a fix is as simple as restarting your software or hardware. Before restarting your internet, try restarting MultiVersus. If that doesn’t work, restart your PC and see if that helps.
As a final resort, you can unplug your internet router for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Although other players may be experiencing lag issues, it may just be your internet.
Verify integrity of game files
Lastly, you can always attempt to verify the integrity of your game files. This is something you can easily do through Steam that won’t affect your save files in any way. Here’s how to do it:
- Right-click on MultiVersus in your Steam Library.
- Select “Properties”, then go to “Installed Files”.
- Select “Verify integrity of game files”.
This will allow Steam to check all your game files to see if everything is okay and not corrupted. After you do this, jump back into MultiVersus and see if it helped at all.
With video game launches, you should expect everything under the sun to go wrong. As a shining example, many players are experiencing an annoying offline mode error in MultiVersus.
