Mullet Madjack Steam Deck compatibility and performance

At the time of writing, the Steam Deck compatibility on the Mullet Madjack’s Steam page is still “unknown.” That said, I have been playing through the game on my Steam Deck and it is running perfectly fine with almost zero performance issues and frame rate dips.

There are times when the game stutters (when the rooms fill with enemies), but it’s barely noticeable and not enough to ruin the experience. In other words, yes, you can play Mullet Madjack on the Steam Deck.

How long does will it take for Mullet Madjack to get verified on Steam Deck?

Mullet Madjack was just released on May 15, 2024, the same day this article was published. Once the game has been out on Steam for longer, I believe that it will get the Steam Deck verified compatibility. If not, it will at least get the “playable” status.

To put things into perspective, we have laid out the Steam Deck compatibility review process in the bullet point list below. This will give you an understanding of why a game isn’t automatically Steam Deck verified at launch.

According to the official Steamworks website (which partners with Steam), the review process is as follows:

  • Valve will review the game on Steam Deck, checking it against a specific set of criteria.
  • When the review is completed, the developer will be provided with detailed point-by-point results through the partner site.
  • The developer has a window of time to review these results before they’re published.
  • Once published, customers will be able to see the results of compatibility testing when browsing games in their library or the store.

Unfortunately, the website doesn’t detail the estimated amount of time this process takes to complete. Hammer95 Studios, the developer behind Mullet Madjack, seems to be very passionate about its new game so we expect them to be pushing for that “verified” status.
