As you progress in Mullet Mad Jack, you may notice that stuff gets even more intense. Not every power-up you get is equal, so I want to break down the best upgrades you can use in Mullet Mad Jack.
Mullet Mad Jack: Best upgrades to use
A lot of upgrades in the game seem to be small, but the following stand out enough to where I notice things do change. These upgrades might switch things around for you.
Plot Armor
Plot Armor has gotten me out of near-death situations. Even when I’m prepped with upgraded weapons, things still get tough. Plot Armor slows down time when you are low health. This allows for easier follow-up shots and replenishment of your health.
When things are going crazy by having many attacks coming from all over, Plot Armor can help manage these attacks. With time slowed down, you can plan and anticipate the attacks a lot better. I’ve found this upgrade both in the levels at the checkpoint between levels, and at the end as a Permanent Power. If you pick it as Permanent Power, this triggers whenever you’re low health.
Lollipop
You have 10 seconds to survive, and for every kill your time recharges. The Lollipop upgrade gives one extra second. This might not seem like enough, but having that one second is more than enough. You don’t have to fight that hard, and you also don’t need to rely on healing as much. But even with that, you still need to manage your time and health. This upgrade has helped me during boss fights because the eleven seconds means the NPC has to fight harder.
Soda Grenade
The best weapons in Mullet Mad Jack are great, but having a grenade can make everything better. When you have Soda Genade equipped, you have the chance of making a Soda Can become a grenade when thrown
This is one of my favorite upgrades to use because you can clear up a room in no time. When you do, your time goes right back up to ten seconds. It is overpowered which makes sense of why the chances are rather low. But when it happens, the game goes on easy mode.
Toxic Smell
Mullet Mad Jack has tons of jokes, the humor is impressive, and Toxic Smell is a good example of it. The description is, “Your manliness weakens everything that dares to touch you”. It’s a funny upgrade, but it has a punch to it.
Most of the game is in close quarters, and enemies will be right up in your face. With this upgrade, you down them even more easily. Plus, I’d suggest taking this while going up against bosses. They do come close to you, and if you can weaken them even by a little, you have a high chance of winning the fight.
Akimbo Soda
Much like the Soda Grenade expect the result to be different. Rather than a grenade, Akimbo Soda allows you to get a small chance of dual-wielding the weapon you’re using after you use a soda for about ten seconds. Your screen goes red and the power goes up, making you unstoppable.
During those ten seconds, you can maintain the full ten seconds that’s keeping you alive. My favorite moment when using this upgrade is that when I go in a straight line, I run through the enemies. That feeling alone can make one feel powerful and keep playing more aggressively.
What I like about Mullet Mad Jack is that it seems to run well on low-end PCs. If you don’t have a strong computer, don’t worry, there are many games like Mullet Mad Jack that can work well on low-end PCs.
