To celebrate the release of V Rising 1.0, the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack has been released. If you’re looking to add whole new themes and nostalgic spookiness to V Rising, the Legacy of Castlevania DLC may just be worth the extra cost.
Is the V Rising Castlevania DLC worth it?
If you’re a big fan of classic Castlevania and all the sounds, aesthetics, and characters that go along with it, the V Rising DLC has no doubt caught your eye. However, at an added cost of almost $20, it isn’t exactly the cheapest add-on to the game. Deciding whether all the extras are worth it takes knowing more about the DLC.
There is no gameplay bonus to the DLC, so everything purchased with V Rising Legacy of Castlevania will only be cosmetic. However, the cosmetics are very eye-catching. There has obviously been a lot of care and attention put into each little decoration, skin, and even a mount. The team at Stunlock hasn’t cut any corners in putting together this passion piece for the players of V Rising.
As long as you’re aware that the Legacy of Castlevania DLC’s benefits are solely cosmetic, I think it is worth it. The team obviously took great care over the details. Also, the aesthetic is wild, fits perfectly with the game, and will be sure to impress. You don’t need the DLC to fight Simon Belmont in V Rising, but it’s undoubtedly the best way to do it.
Is the V Rising Castlevania DLC required to play the game?
The V Rising Castlevania DLC isn’t required to play the game, but the base game is required to buy the DLC. Currently, there is a discounted bundle available on Steam that includes both V Rising and the Castlevania add-on if you’re looking to grab both.
If you don’t have the DLC installed, you will still be able to view other players with it enabled.
