How to relocate your castle in V Rising

Home, sweet, home.

Moving your base is something V Rising players wanted the moment the game entered early access. Thanks to V Rising 1.0, you can finally relocate your castle without deleting everything — here’s how to do it.

Instead of having to dismantle and scrap everything in your base to move it to a different location, you can easily move your base in V Rising by having 100 Blood Essence and working your way through the relocation process.

Relocating your castle in V Rising is a bit of a process, but it’s not too challenging. To make it easy for you, here’s the step-by-step process of how to move your base in V Rising:

  1. Select the Castle Relocation Heart option next to the Castle Heart option in the build menu. This requires 100 Blood Essence.
  2. Place your Castle Relocation Heart in the location where you want your base to move to.
  3. Interact with the Castle Relocation Heart and select Connect a Castle Heart.
  4. Select the base you want to move on the map.
  5. Place all Foundations, Walls, and other structures in the new area. These can be moved before you finalize the location.
  6. Once you’re satisfied with the layout and everything is placed, interact with the Castle Relocation Heart and select Relocate Castle. If you don’t want to follow through with this, you can select Disconnect Castle.
  7. You successfully moved your base in V Rising!

In the past, you couldn’t manually move your base wherever you wanted. You’d have to delete everything within it and tear down your Castle Heart. From there, you’d have to find a new location (hopefully one not too near Simon Belmont) and rebuild. If you’re getting into V Rising after the 1.0 release, count yourself lucky that there is a much easier way to relocate your castle.

Best places to build your castle in V Rising

There are many great areas to build your castle, and it makes sense that you’ll want to move it throughout your journey. My first castle was built in the southwest section of the map, where it was safe and easy, but as I leveled up and ventured to further regions, it was a hassle to travel back.

Use the map above to see the best places to build and relocate your base in V Rising. Start with one and as you progress further in the game, go to two, then three, and so on. Go from Farbane Woods to close to Hallowed Mountains to Dunley Farmlands to Silverlight Hills to Gloomrot to Cursed Forest. I recommend building multiple bases instead of relocating one when you get to three and four, especially since Silverlight Hills is so far away.

Once you have your base figured out, you can get back to the hunt. Perhaps your next victim will grant you permanent access to Spider Form.
