So, you’ve finally made your way into an Empire Bunker in LEGO Fortnite, only to be blocked by a red forcefield. Here’s how to get past it.
How to open the red force fields in Imperial Outposts in LEGO Fortnite
When I cleared the first room of my first Imperial Outpost in LEGO Fortnite, I was super excited to see what was next, only to get stumped by the red barrier. I imagined there would be some cool piece of tech that was activating it, so I leveled all the buildings. But it was still up.
It was only on a second Imperial Outpost run did I learn that these forcefields will automatically open after defeating every single enemy in the chamber you’re in.
So if you’ve defeated all the enemies, and it’s still closed, then that could mean a couple things:
- There is still an enemy in the chamber that’s not engaged you – have another look around and find them.
- An enemy has spawned inside of a wall. There is nothing you can do in this case – you’ll have to visit another Imperial Stronghold.
To easily see whether there are any enemies about, it would be a good idea to toggle on “Visual Sound Effects” in settings. This will visually warn you if an enemy is near, allowing you to quickly see if there are any enemies, and where they are.
Note that this won’t appear unless they’re making noise, so you’ll still have to run around a bit until the game picks up their footsteps.
With all enemies defeated, whether in that Empire Bunker or another one, the red force field will open, permitting you entry.
What’s past the red force fields in Imperial Outposts in LEGO Fortnite?
Before you dive back into the game, it may be worth it to know what’s awaiting you on the other end of that barrier.
Even more enemies!
Each Empire Bunker is almost like a dungeon, with a few chambers locked behind red force fields. You will have to burn through each and every stormtrooper if you want to reach the end. This is a pretty tough task, so you may have to keep coming back if ever you run out of food or blaster durability.
In the final chamber, you’ll be met with an incredibly tough AWR Trooper. These guys have a super high health pool (it takes numerous Thermal Detonators to take them down), and they are handy with a dagger and a blaster.
Once you finally take down the AWR Trooper, you’ll be met with a reward chamber, one with a glorious chest waiting for you.
In mine, I found a grand bounty of goods, and a Green Lightsaber.
Equipped with all the information you need to delve ever deeper into the Empire Bunkers, make sure you’re also equipped with enough blasters.
