Is your character locked to one server in Once Human?

Unfortunately, characters in Once Human are locked to one server. This means that once you create a character, you can’t hop between different servers. In other words, if you want to join another server, you will have to create a new character from scratch.

I found this to be especially frustrating when I tried to play with friends, but couldn’t since they were on a different server. However, it’s not all bad news, as each server offers its own simplified way to find other players. The game does this through what it calls “worlds.” Let’s go over Worlds and how they work in Once Human.

Worlds in Once Human, explained

Each server has its own group of worlds to choose from. These worlds offer the player a change of scenery and an easy way to find friends, all while keeping character progression.

If you are trying to find a friend on your server, you can do so easily through the Worlds mechanic. In Once Human, you can change worlds by finding a Teleportation Tower, a landmark scattered across the game map, and interacting with it by pressing G on the keyboard. Doing so will bring up a list of worlds to choose from.

At the Teleportation Tower, you can communicate with a friend and tell them which World to select. Once you both teleport to the same world, you can find each other on the map and play together. Remember, though, that this only works when you and your friends are on the same server.

Once you interact with a Teleportation Tower, it will turn into a fast-travel point, allowing you to return to it whenever you please. This is a great way to access the change world feature at will, or simply move across the map quickly.

Changing worlds won’t mess with your character at all, and all progression will carry over to the new world. This includes resources, weapons, cosmetics, etc.
