What weapon colors mean in Once Human? explained

Being rare might not always be a good thing.

When you pick up a weapon in Once Human, there’s so much information in the tool kit. It’s all important, and depending on how you’re playing, you should read it carefully.

However, the most puzzling aspect of the weapon’s tool kit is the color banner on top. If you’re lost like I am and don’t know what the weapon colors mean in Once Human, let’s find out together.

Once Human: What do the weapon colors mean? Explained

The game at its core plays like any other RPG like Starfield, which also shares colors to highlight the weapon attributes. In the space epic, the color highlights the weapon’s damage. If it’s green, the gun is in the middle area in terms of how much damage it does. When it has the purple banner, that is as far as that weapon can go for its damage.

For Once Human, it’s a little different. Every weapon and piece of gear in the game will be color-coded. This seems to have more to do with the weapon’s rarity rather than how it performs.

Here is what each color represents

  • Green – Common
  • Blue – Rare
  • Purple – Epic
  • Orange – Legendary

As you go higher in rarity, there are more options to upgrade allowing the weapon you’re using to become different than what it would normally be. On top of that, you have more room to calibrate your gun at the higher rarities.

How does upgrading weapons work?

Each one has Tiers that can be upgraded to make the gun better. When upgrading, the color does not change. If you find a green weapon and upgrade to tier 5, the color stays green.

This may take a little time to get used to because in games like Fortnite when the weapon is upgraded, it changes the color to reflect the damage.

As I’m finding weapons, I pay attention to the other attributes like calibration, the mods I can play, and upgrading it to at least the second tier because that’s what matters the most.

If you come across a weapon that is purple or orange, for example, it might not be as powerful as a green weapon you have. This is because you’ve leveled up the weapon to the highest degree.

If you’re starting Once Human as a new player, you might need to know about charcoal first. Luckily we have a guide that can show you how to obtain this resource.
