Warriors and Fighters are the only vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2 with more than one category of weapons. This guide examines Maces for Fighters and Hammers for Warriors and ranks the best ones available in the game.
Best Maces in Dragon’s Dogma 2, ranked
One weapon category for the Fighter vocation is Maces, which favor agility and quick slashes. A handful are available in the game, but three are worth your time. Here are the best Maces in Dragon’s Dogma 2 ranked.
3. Threaded Cudgel
The Threaded Cudgel is not only one of the best Maces but also one of the best fighter weapons in general for the midgame. With a solid Strength of 240 and high Knockdown Power of 300, it is a beast for its vocation.
If you’re looking to acquire the Threaded Cudgel, you can easily purchase it in Bakhbattal from Awaran’s Arms. It will cost you 38500 gold.

2. The Exalted
The Exalted is a powerful Mace in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that sacrifices Knockdown Power for Holy Elemental damage. Adding elemental damage to your attacks can make a huge difference, especially when the enemy is weak to that element. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, most enemies are weak to Holy.
Players can find The Exalted in Drabnir’s Grotto, the long dungeon leading from Battahl to Agamen Volcanic Island. The Exalted can also be purchased from Rodrick’s Smithy in the new game plus or in the Unmoored World.
- Strength: 260
- Magick: 120
- Slash: 0
- Strike: 100
- Knockdown Power: 100
- Element: 100% Holy
- Debilitation: None
1. Molten Fury
Molten Fury is hands down the best Mace in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Built with solid stats, Strength at 275, Magick at 200, and Knockdown Power at 265, it also comes equipped with 120% Fire damage. That amount of fire will make your enemies burn with ease, adding a ton of passive damage on top of the already high base damage.
Players can get the Molten Fury Mace in one place — inside Mountain Base Cave on Agamen Volcanic Island.
- Strength: 275
- Magick: 200
- Slash: 0
- Strike: 100
- Knockdown Power: 265
- Element: 120% Fire

Best Hammers in Dragon’s Dogma 2, ranked
Hammers are weapons exclusive to the Warrior vocation. They deal high damage and are great at knocking down foes. Three Hammers are considered the best in the game, which we showcase in the following section.
3. Black Matter
The Black Matter is a very heavy hammer in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but well worth it if you have weight to spare. Boasting a whopping 338 for Knockdown Power, Black Matter can easily toss large enemies to the ground with a perfectly timed attack.
At the time of writing, Black Matter can be found only in one place: a chest within the Ancient Battleground. It’s at the top of the castle, guarded by a large Cyclops.
- Strength: 220
- Magick: 0
- Slash: 0
- Strike: 0
- Knockdown Power: 338
- Element: None
- Debilitation: None
2. Cyclopean Thunder
My favorite in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the Cyclopean Thunder, mainly because it deals high-lighting elemental damage and has a cool blue hue. The former makes it one of the best hammers in the game since lightning damage can be the most deadly out of all elements. While lightning damage is strong by default, if an enemy is drenched, it is multiplied tenfold.
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players can obtain the Cyclopean Thunder hammer in two locations. First, it can be acquired inside a chest in Darkbeast’s Den on the northwestern side of Battahl. It can also be found on the eastern side of Volcanic Island Camp.
- Strength: 280
- Magick: 200
- Slash: 0
- Strike: 100
- Knockdown Power: 371
- Element: 150% Lightning
- Debilitation: None
1. Cinderspine
The Cinderspine is the best hammer for the Warrior vocation. It has high Strength, high Knockdown Power, and 150% elemental fire damage. Continually landing hits with the Cinderspine will set your foes ablaze, dealing passive damage and quickly draining the health bar. This is especially effective against the large boss monsters you’ll encounter.
Players can get the Cinderspine hammer inside the Mountain Base Cave in the Volcano Island region. Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck finding a vendor who sells it.
- Strength: 300
- Magick: 210
- Slash: 0
- Strike: 100
- Knockdown Power: 323
- Element: 150% Fire
- Debilitation: None
