The Sorcerer vocation slowly casts spells with Archistaves to create powerful spells that deal high damage. This guide covers the best Archistaves in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Best Archistaves and how to get them
There are more than a dozen Archistaves for Sorcerer’s in Dragon’s Dogma 2, some with special effects, others with high stats. Below are our picks for the five best in the game.
5. Anathema
The Anathema is a really special Archistaff, not because of its good stats but because it can inflict silence upon its enemies. With a 17% Debilitation Silence effect, the Anathema Archistaff can prevent any enemy from casting spells that involve speech. This includes Harpies trying to put you to sleep, incanting spells, etc.
To claim the Anathema Archistaff, you can find it in a chest inside the Dragonbreath Tower on the western side of the Battahl region. Although it is extremely rare, Anathema can also drop from Lich.

4. Bane Archistaff
The Bane Archistaff is one of the best Archistaffs for the midgame when entering the Battahl region. It has base Magick stats of 345 and a solid Knockdown Power of 100. I found myself using this staff more than most as it is extremely easy to get.
Players can get the Bane Archistaff from Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl after completing the “Steeled Resolve, Blazing Reforge” side quest. Additionally, it can be purchased from Volcanic Island Armory for 48000 gold.

3. Lion-Lord’s Archistaff
Those looking to shock their foes in Dragon’s Dogma 2 want to claim their very own Lion-Lord’s Archistaff. The staff includes 10% Lightning elemental damage, possibly stunning smaller and larger enemies. Pair this elemental buff with the Thundermine spell, which already has the chance to stun enemies, and you’ll constantly immobilize foes.
Players can quickly get the Lion-Lord’s Archistaff from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 56900. If you aren’t familiar with this location, just know it is found in northern Vermund and can be accessed very early in the playthrough.

- Knockdown Power: 104

2. Caged Fury
Caged Fury is an endgame Archistaff and one of the best available due to its unique ability. The more health the user has, the higher the damage the Caged Fury staff will inflict. This means that when you are in full health, the amount of damage is higher than the stats mentioned below.
The Caged Fury can only be obtained in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Unmoored World or NG+. Once you reach either point in the game, you can purchase the Caged Fury Archistaff from Roderick’s Smithys, Grisha’s Armory, Celeste’s Smithy, Awaran’s Arms, and Brokkr’s Smithy.

1. Dragon’s Wit
The Dragon’s Wit is undoubtedly the best Archistaff in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and it really doesn’t come close. This powerful staff has a base Magick stat of 440, which puts it above all the others and makes it the ultimate weapon for taking down any boss in the game.Â
To obtain the Dragon’s Wit Archistaff, you can purchase it from the Bay Wayside Shrine for 110 Wyrmslife Crystals. Alternatively, you can Defeat Drakes or Lesser Dragons to acquire Wyrmslife Crystals.
