Dragon’s Dogma 2’s open world is filled with enemies who can drop rare loot, items, and essential upgrade materials. So, it only makes sense that players want to farm specific enemies to get the proper materials for the weapon of their choice.
This begs the question — how long does it take for enemies to respawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2? This guide has your answer.
When do small monsters respawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Basic monsters, or as I’d like to call “smaller-sized enemies,” respawn every two in-game days after being defeated. This is a very short amount of time, making it a great way to farm these types of enemies for materials and other items. Below is a complete list of all basic monsters that respawn every two days:
- Knacker
- Rattlers
- Chopper
- Undead
- Skeletons
- Slimes
- Saurian
- Harpies
- Wolves
- Hobgoblins
- Goblins
Remember that when farming these enemies, you cannot guarantee that they will drop the same item or material as the previous time they spawned.
When do large boss monsters respawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
For larger enemies, otherwise known as “boss monsters,” respawn time varies depending on the monster. From personal experience, seven days is a pretty accurate estimation for most boss monsters, although some have respawned for me in only three days. Below are all the enemies that are considered boss monsters:
If you are farming one of the monsters mentioned above, rest at an inn or your house or sit in a chair until it respawns in your area. While some monsters respawn in three days as previously mentioned, it’s best to play it safe and rest for seven days and then return to the monster’s area.
Which monsters don’t respawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
After investigation, it seems that the only monster that doesn’t respawn is the Sphinx in the Mountain Shrine. The Sphinx offers a side quest, and on the final part of that quest, you have the chance to fight it in combat.
Once you win the fight against the Sphinx, it will be gone from your playthrough and can only be seen again in a new game plus or a new save file.
