In any RPG, there comes a time when you accidentally sell a beloved item to a vendor, such as a rare armor piece or weapon. If you’re reading this guide, this has probably happened to you in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
So, can you recover items you have sold to a merchant in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Find out below.
Is it possible to recover sold items in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
The answer to whether you can recover sold items in Dragon’s Dogma 2? It depends. Players can recover key quest items if they accidentally sell them, but standard items such as consumables, weapons, and armor cannot be recovered once they have been sold. They are either gone for good in your game, or you have to find another one out in the world or from another vendor.
I accidentally sold my Flamberge sword during my playthrough when I planned on switching to the Warrior vocation. This ultimately led me to have a terrible starting point with the Warrior since I couldn’t find the Flamberge, known to be one of the best weapons in the game.
The good news is that the game won’t let you sell anything that you have equipped to your character. With that in mind, you should consistently check your armor and ensure you are wearing the options with the highest stats. Doing this will ensure that you can never accidentally sell worthwhile items.
How to recover key quest items in Dragon’s Dogma 2
If you accidentally sell a key item that is mandatory to progress a quest, you can recover it from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop in Checkpoint Rest Town. You can find him in his little nook on the southwestern side of town, shown in the image below.
Select the “Special Finds” option, and the key item you lost, sold, or discarded will be available for you to grab.
The Special Finds shop is a lifesaver for players who get trigger-happy when in a shop and accidentally sell key items. Without it, players could get locked out of the main story progression—kind of like how the Dragonplague can lock you out if you aren’t careful!
