Customize your constructs and make the ultimate flying machine! Here is how to craft and use a Wrench to change Switch and Thruster channels in LEGO Fortnite.
How to unlock and craft the Wrench in LEGO Fortnite
The Wrench is here to allow the creation of more complex constructs with a total of three separate channels. To get the Wrench recipe if you are just starting up your LEGO Fortnite adventure, you will need to collect a Wooden Rod by processing Wood in a Lumber Mill. You will need the following resources to build a Lumber Mill:
- 8x Wood: You can find these all across the ground or use an Axe to get it from trees.
- 15x Granite: Just like the wood, you can collect pieces of Granite on the ground.
After processing a piece of Wood at the Lumber Mill, you will be able to craft it at the Crafting Bench, which will need 3 Wood and 5 Granite pieces to craft. Then, to craft the Wrench, you will need to use the following resources:
- 3x Wooden Rod: Process wood at a Lumber Mill.
- 1x Cord: Process 5 Vines – found by slashing bushes – at a Spinning Wheel:
- 8x Planks: Process wood at the Lumber Mill.
- 5x Wooden Rods.
- 5x Wood.
- 5x Wolf Claws: Drop found by defeating Wolves.
Now, how Wooden Rods and a Cord will make an iron Wrench is beyond me, but that’s suspending your disbelief!
How to use the Wrench in LEGO Fortnite
Using the Wrench is a pretty simple process for those who are used to making pretty complex contraptions to control a specific group of Thrusters. When you have built your construct – by the way, I’m so sorry about mine, I suck at LEGO -, then use your Wrench to interact with each Thruster to assign it to one or various Channels.
Then, you can also use the Wrench with the Switches to assign them to one or more Channels. This means that when you interact with said Switch you will activate the Channel that it is assigned to, and therefore, the Thrusters that are connected to said Channel.
The amount of possibilities with the new Wrench mechanic allows for more refined navigation on air. For example, you could assign Switches to side Thrusters to turn your airship to one side or another.
You can even create a Master Switch to turn every single Thruster on and off. Moreover, you could also deactivate individual Thrusters to further optimize your turning and moving speed.
