Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to continue the main story after Dragonsplague

Many players online have been complaining about how their main Pawn caught Dragonsplague without their knowledge and then wiped an entire village of NPCs overnight. While this may sound like something that can ruin your entire save file, there’s an easy workaround. You can continue to play through the main story by passing time for a few days until all NPCs revive.

Dragonsplague is a spreadable disease through the Rift network that at first seems like nothing too bad. You may hire a Pawn that has it who can then pass it on to your main Pawn. If the disease gets worse, it can lead to your Pawn causing havoc without your permission, leaving important NPCs dead.

Although you may think NPCs permanently stay dead, you’re wrong. Players have discovered that waiting around three days will have the main NPCs automatically revive. You can easily do this by sleeping at an inn, in your own house, or on a bench.

NPCs that aren’t tied to the main story will stay dead, but you can revive them using Wakestones. If you’d rather just revive an entire town, that’s possible too. Find the Sphinx boss and solve all their riddles. You’ll then be able to unlock a chest behind them that has an Eternal Wakestone. This item can revive a whole town of dead NPCs.

No matter if you use Wakestones or just wait for NPCs to come back to life, Dragonsplague won’t ruin your game. It’s still important to know Dragonsplague symptoms and how to cure it so this doesn’t happen again.
