Best ways to get your Pawn hired more in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Make your pawn a worthy candidate.

The most unique feature of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the pawn system, where you can hire other players’ pawns to help you explore your world. If your pawn isn’t getting hired often, this guide has you covered with the best ways to increase your chances.

In the following sections, you will find the best ways to increase your pawns hire rate in Dragon’s Dogma 2. These tips will make your pawn more valuable and worth other players’ time.

Have a good Inclination and Specialization

One of the best ways to increase your pawn’s chances of being hired by another player is to ensure you have an excellent Inclination and Specialization. These two traits of your pawn will determine their focus when exploring another player’s world, and other players will choose a pawn that tends to their needs.

I recommend you choose Kindhearted (Inclination) and Chirugeon (Specialization), two traits that will make your pawn focus on healing the members of your party. Kindhearted will have your pawn come to the rescue whenever someone is in need, such as when you are low on health or down on the ground. Meanwhile, Chirugeon will cause your pawn to use more Curatives, keeping the party alive longer.

Players want a pawn who will help them survive challenging fights. There’s no better way to do that than to use these two traits.

Set a valuable Pawn Quest reward

Before putting your pawn up “for hire,” you can set up a Pawn Quest with a reward. Other players can see the pawn quest and the reward that comes with it, which can be a huge factor in a player’s decision to hire your pawn.

In other words, you need to make sure you set a quest that isn’t too difficult, with a worthwhile reward. Let’s discuss my pawn, for example. Right now, I have a Pawn Quest where you must defeat a Ogre, and in return, I will give you a ring that increases maximum health. That quest is well worth it, especially for players looking to have more of a tank build.

If you set the same Pawn Quest as the one mentioned, but your reward is an Apple, no one will hire your pawn. Ensure you always set the reward as an item that could benefit a player’s build, and you will see your pawn getting hired more frequently. Or maybe even a Ferrystone. Since fast travel is limited, players would love to earn a Ferrystone.

Focus on your pawn’s Skills and Augments

Many players don’t realize that you can upgrade the main pawn just as much as you can with your main character. This means skills, core skills, and augments. Players can see this information when viewing your pawn at the rift, so if you haven’t been focusing on this, your pawn will likely not get hired

So make sure you unlock powerful skills and equip your pawn with augments. For example, if I see a pawn with only a couple of augments equipped versus one with five, I will hire the second option. Augments make pawns perform better due to the boosts they provide and are a great way to encourage other players to hire your pawn over another option.

Make your pawn attractive

This is not a surefire way, but it should be considered. You should try to make your pawns as attractive as possible because a good-looking pawn could persuade another player to hire them. It’s human nature at its finest!

You don’t have to go all out here and spend hours making your pawn look better, but I highly recommend that you don’t go the extremely ugly route like we have seen some players do on the internet. Remember, some RPG players take their playthroughs very seriously, and having an attractive pawn over a hideous one could make a huge difference in whether they get hired.

Focusing on these methods will increase your pawn’s chances of getting hired; there is no doubt about that. You can also always summon your friends’ pawns and have them summon yours! You don’t need to always rely on strangers.
