If you are looking to show your pawn some love due to their hard work, we have you covered. This guide explains how to high-five your pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to high five pawns
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, high-fiving your pawn depends on the situation and on timing. The best way to initiate a high five is to approach them immediately after a battle. Keep in mind that it doesn’t happen after every fight.
You’ll know you can high-five a pawn when their hand is held out to the side. When this happens, you only need to walk up to them, and the high five will happen automatically. It seems that after a battle is the only situation with a high chance of opportunity for a high five.
However, there have been times when I’m exploring the world and my pawn randomly holds out their hand, asking for a high five. For example, when I entered a new cave, I turned around, and my pawn was standing still, waiting for me to high-five her. There is no definite way to tell what triggers this, but it seems completely random to me.
Just know that if you ever see your pawn standing still with their hand to the side, approach them and dap them up! Your pawn will wait patiently during the high-five animation, until you complete it. Or, if you want to be rude, you can ignore it and continue with your journey. Once you continue forward, your pawn will put their hand down and start following you again.
How to communicate with pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can easily communicate with pawns by using the directional buttons on the D-pad for Playstation and Xbox. For PC, you can communicate with pawns with the arrow buttons on the keyboard. The commands are as follows: Go, Wait, To Me, and Help.
Besides this, there doesn’t seem to be a way to emote with your pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Besides, of course, through random occurrences like high-fives and when they speak about key points of interest.
That’s all you need to know about high-fiving your pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2! The pawn system is so complex, and you should learn a lot to make the most of it. We have guides for you, whether you’re new to the series or a veteran. For starters, check out our guide on Pawn IDs.
