How to get formal raiment in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are many ways to get formal raiment in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but the method I’ll show you is the easiest and cheapest. We need to find a Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches. Luckily for us, whether you’re Mystic Spearhand or any other Vocation, nobody cares about stealing in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

You’ll find a Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches in Watchhead’s Home which is in the Noble District in Vernworth. Use the images provided above as your guide.

Walk into Watchhead’s Home and enter the kitchen on the left. You’ll find the Courtly Tunic next to the fireplace. For the Courtly Breeches, go upstairs and enter the room in the middle of the hallway. Grab the Courtly Breeches in the corner of the room and you have the formal raiment you need to enter the masquerade.

How to approach the false Sovran in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The masquerade happens at a specific time of day, so I recommend Dozing Off on the bench outside the castle gates to pass the time. This took me several tries to get right, but you’ll know the masquerade has started when you enter the ballroom and receive a cutscene. Just make sure to have your masquerade mask (the one that Captain Brant gave you) and your Courtly formal raiment on.

Once inside, you need to go down the left or right corridor that surrounds the circular, central ballroom. A guard is posted up against a secret door hidden as a wall. Push through the wall — don’t worry about the guard at all because he won’t send you to Gaol.

Now that you’re here, you should be able to pass through the large brown double doors. I arrived at the masquerade too early twice and this door was locked. If this happens to you, you need to Doze Off to pass the time and try again.

After walking outside and entering the Bordelrie, the quest completes itself. You’ll watch cutscenes featuring Wilhelmina, the Queen, and the false Sovran.
