Nothing like starting as one of the average players of the bunch to then reaching stardom. Here is how to improve your Road to the Show player’s rating in MLB The Show 24.
MLB The Show 24: How to improve your Road to the Show player’s rating
When you create your character for the career mode of MLB The Show 24 – Road to the Show -, you will immediately notice that his or her abilities are far from ideal. Now, here is where I would justify my complete lack of skill and inability to hit a ball, but the truth is that starting from the ground in the hope of getting to baseball’s Majors up can be a bit frustrating and time-consuming.
However, there are some things you can do while you are battling through team interest and strikeouts to stand out and start crafting your legend in the books of this sport. Be sure to check out the following tips for you to improve your RTTS player’s rating in MLB The Show 24.
Equip stat-boosting Equipment
Depending on your playstyle or specific fielding position, you will want to use Equipment in your favor. Note that this “Equipment” is different from the one you equip when you first create your Road to the Show character in MLB The Show.
Once you start your journey towards stardom and begin performing and gaining experience, you will unlock Equipment – in the form of random Trading Cards – that will provide stat bonuses – contrary to the character creation equipment which is strictly cosmetic.
As you can see above, my Treasure Map bat grants +6 in both Power and Control, which is great since I’m a Power Hitter. Adapt your gear to your needs and become a menace to the opposing team while increasing your stats as well.
Select perks to boost your playstyle
This works similarly to equipment except these are more specialized to your specific playstyle. Whether you’ve chosen to be a pitcher or a hitter (or both), you will be able to unlock Perk Packs just as you would unlock Equipment. If you are lucky, you will be able to get a Perk that will help your baseball skills.
The difference here is that these Perks will also carry the occasional downside in the form of a stat debuff. Focus on having Perks that will suit your pitching style or hitting characteristics and you will thrive early and later in your career.
Complete Road to the Show missions
Now this is the most exciting part until this point in the list. By accessing the Tasks and Rewards tab, you will see a lot of tasks you can undergo that will reward you with RTTS points. These will help you out by rewarding you with things like Perks, Equipment, and even Unlockables to make your experience more immersive and entertaining.
Train your non-priority attributes
While working on the attributes and stats you wish to strengthen to become a pitching or hitting master, some players decide to strengthen other stats that may not be as important as others to boost their overall rating. This is because as your stats begin to level up, the amount of progress you will receive through training will become less and less. Pick up any complimentary stats and attributes to boost our player’s rating and make a case for an all-rounder build.
Perfect your hitting and pitching skills
Arguably, this is the most obvious way you can get to increase your player’s rating. Improving your Hitting Timing and using the tools that the game provides to you such as PCI will allow you to get more bonuses and experience that will inevitably impact your Equipment, Perk, and overall goodies acquisition. Just make sure to practice whenever you have the time and you will eventually see your player’s rating rise up to the All-Star level and stand alongside baseball legends like Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle.
