FF7 Rebirth: How to beat Jules in Crunch Off

FF7 Rebirth has a ton of unique minigames, but this one has to be the toughest to beat. Your goal in Crunch Off against Jules is to beat his score of 49, as it always stays the same no matter how many tries you attempt. With that knowledge in mind, you can beat Jules in Crunch Off in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by memorizing the special circles and tweaking the sound and controller settings.

Learn the circle colors

The first tip is to recognize what each special circle does and memorize what you need to do before jumping into a game. Here are the two colored circles and how you deal with them:

  • Green circle: Press the trigger halfway, and when it fills you push the trigger all the way.
  • Yellow circle: Mash the trigger until it fills.

At first, I thought I had to mash the green circle, but you just have to hold it halfway, which is a lot faster to complete. If you’re confusing the green with the yellow circles, try remembering that green means easy and yellow means hard, since it’s easier to do the green circle over the yellow one.

Change sound and vibration settings

Another good tip that players online have been sharing is changing some in-game settings. If you turn off sound effects and voice sounds, you may have a much easier time focusing on the Crunch Off. Some players have even gone as far as to turn the PS5 controller’s settings down.

With the Dualsense’s adaptive triggers, it makes it a lot tougher to mash the button in the latter half of Crunch Off. Try turning down Vibration Intensity and Trigger Effect Intensity. You can do this by following these instructions:

  1. Press the PlayStation button on your controller.
  2. Go to Accessories.
  3. Select your controller, then Controller Settings.

It may sound a little cheaty, but if it’s the only way you can concentrate on beating Crunch Off, you may as well try it. You can also do this through the settings in FF7 Rebirth to make it even easier:

  1. Head to Options, then Gameplay.
  2. Turn “Trigger Effect Functionto zero.

Hopefully, these tips have helped you beat Jules in FF7 Rebirth. This isn’t the only minigame that has players stumped, Fort Condor can be ruthless as well.
