Cerberus is found in Grim Gate, a great POI surrounded by green water that, when entered, gives you Underworld Dash. We’ll be using that to defeat Cerberus.

To start the Cerberus boss fight, you need to break the Cerberus altar found in the southeast corner of the POI. After you do that, the surrounding area will turn into an arena as you fight wolves and then Cerberus.

Before shattering the Cerberus altar and starting the fight, I highly recommend defeating all opponents in the area. I have used the god altars to attract all nearby players to quickly eliminate them, but I’ve also been quickly eliminated by third parties while trying to defeat Cerberus. It’s up to you how you use the altar, but if you’re focused on defeating Cerberus, I recommend clearing the entire POI of players before starting it.

The first step in getting to Cerberus is to defeat his wolves. The wolves are easy to defeat compared to other gods’ minions. They don’t have any ranged attacks, so my advice is to stay behind cover, keep your distance, and use a Huntress DMR. I’ve also had success rushing them with the Harbinger SMG.

After defeating a wolf, the bar at the top of the screen will fill. Once the bar is full and there are no more wolves, Cerberus will emerge at the west side of the arena.

Cerberus uses a short-range weapon and has a spin attack that deals considerable damage. My advice to defeat him quickly and easily is to stay inside the building to the west. For some reason, he doesn’t enter the building which makes it a great place to heal and slowly drain his health. While in the building, use your DMR or other long-ranged weapons to chip away at Cerberus’ health.

Alternatively, you can rush Cerberus. If you do, I recommend using an SMG as that depletes his health faster than a shotgun in my experience. Just be careful of his spin attack and watch out for any remaining wolves that might bite at your ankles.

I’ve defeated Cerberus solo and in a squad and I prefer defeating him solo. With the building DMR strategy, you can defeat Cerberus quickly and safely. Once he’s dead, you can have the Mythic Gatekeeper Shotgun and Aspect all to yourself. Every time I’m in a squad, it’s a mad dash to hog the shotgun and Aspect. If you are racing for the rewards, be sure to use your Underworld Dash.

That is how to defeat Cerberus with ease in Fortnite. Sadly, Cerberus doesn’t give you Wings of Icarus — you’ll need to find that Mythic by searching Olympus or Underworld chests.
