Time Materia is one of the game’s best items, allowing you to cast Haste, Slow, and Stop abilities. This guide explains all the ways you can get Time Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Where to find Time Materia in FF7 Rebirth
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players can obtain Time Materia in a couple of ways. Let’s go over the earlier way to acquire it first.
Obtain Time Materia from Pirate’s Rampage
The first way to get the Time Materia is through the Brigantine stage of the Pirate’s Rampage minigame in the Costa Del Sol resort. You must score at least 15,000 points in the Brigantine stage to earn the Time Materia.
Players reach Costa Del Sol resort in chapter six of the main story, and from my knowledge, there is no sooner way to get the Time Materia.
Obtain Time Materia from Chadley’s Combat Simulator
Another way to get Time Matera is to complete Nibel Region Intel: Level 1 in Chadley’s Combat Simulator. The unlock conditions for the intel are fairly straightforward, only requiring the player to battle 20 enemies in the Nibel region.
Players don’t reach the Nibel region until Chapter 11 of the main story in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. With that in mind, the best way to get Time Materia is through the Pirate’s Rampage minigame, considering it’s much earlier in the game.
Getting the Time Materia earlier rather than later is a smart thing to do. Doing so will give you plenty of time to upgrade it to unlock Slow and Stop, preparing you for the challenging fights of the endgame.
Time Materia abilities and upgrades
The Time Materia has three abilities attached to it, starting with the Haste ability. The second level unlocks the Slow ability, while the third level unlocks the Stop ability. Below are the effects of each ability.
- Haste: Increases the speed at which your ATB gauge fills up.
- Slow: Halves the amount of abilities and spells the enemy can cast.
- Stop: Prevents the enemy from taking any actions for the duration of the effect.
It’s important to remember that many of the bosses in the game are resistant to the Time Materia’s abilities, but not all of them. Make sure to use the Assess ability on the enemy you’re fighting to see if any of the skills mentioned above will work on them.
