Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: How to stop Whymzelett from taking flight using Soothing Breeze
This is one of the objectives you need to complete for the challenge Fiend Intel 2. You can stop enemies from taking flight when using Soothing Breeze in FF7 Rebirth by Pressuring them. You can do this by casting an Ice attack, which the Whymzelett is weak to.
When the fight begins, damage the enemies enough to raise your ATB bars. Do this for your party members who cast Ice spells or perform attacks that inflict Ice damage. Both enemies will eventually cast Soothing Breeze, pushing your party away, and eventually taking flight. To prevent this, bring along party members like Barret or Yuffie who can deal ranged damage. Party members can unlock Folio upgrades to cast Ice spells without spending MP as well.
As soon as you see the red message warning you that it’s about to cast Soothing Breeze, shoot out your Ice attacks and any other attacks that’ll hit it afar. Remember, there are two, so keep an eye on both. You’ll need enough ATB charges to Pressure both. Cloud’s Triple Slash will have him get up close and personal with the enemy, while Yuffie’s Ice Ninjutsu can also hit the enemy from far away.
The best team comps could be Cloud, Barret, and Yuffie, or Cloud, Red XIII, and Tifa. While the former team comp is good for ranged combat and Ice damage, the latter is great for raising ATB gauges faster.
Since the enemy is vulnerable to being Pressured, this should Pressure them pretty quickly. This will also stop them from casting Soothing Breeze so they won’t heal up all the damage you did to them. Keep doing this, and you’ll eventually be able to defeat Whymzelett, who is one of the Junon Region enemies that you need to Assess to unlock one of Chadley’s Combat Simulators.
