Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Tifa romance guide: Best dialogue answers and choices

Trying to date Tifa?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth takes the iconic Gold Saucer date from the original game and greatly expands upon it, adding an entire romance and relationship system into the main game just for that one moment.

Tifa is one of the most popular romance options in Final Fantasy 7 (and for good reason), but you’ll have to put in some work if you want to take her on the Skywheel date at the Gold Saucer.

Tifa is one of the easiest characters to romance in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth because the game serves up relationship-boosting moments on a silver platter throughout your playthrough, but you’ll have to be careful that you don’t end up spending too much time with Aerith or other party members if you want to make sure that Tifa is your date at the Gold Saucer.

How to Romance Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

To romance Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you need to raise your relationship level with her higher than anyone else’s. Relationship levels can be improved in multiple ways throughout your Rebirth playthrough, but dialogue options and side quests are the main ways to do so. There are a few missable moments throughout the story and minor relationship buffs (like activating Synergy attacks) that can help put Tifa ahead of the competition, too.

Tifa Dialogue Answers

There are six important conversations that you can have with Tifa throughout Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s main story. Most of them take place during designated “hang out with your party” moments in between major story beats, so it’s hard to miss them unless you deliberately ignore Tifa. Whenever you have downtime, always check in on Tifa and see if she has anything new to say.

Missable Tifa Relationship Boosts

There are three major missable relationship opportunities with Tifa that can give her a boost over other members of your party like Aerith. The first is the parade in Junon during Chapter 4 of the main story. If you score 100,000 points or higher and earn the best possible parade outcome, you’ll earn relationship points for both Tifa and Aerith.

The next two missable moments take place at Costa del Sol in Chapter 6 of the main story. The first (and most important since it can put her above Aerith) is to have Tifa match swimsuits with Cloud. If Cloud wears the Ocean Chocobo outfit, then you should choose the Majestic Glamour swimsuit for Tifa. If Cloud wears Wild Surf, then Tifa should wear Shining Spirit. If done correctly, you’ll see a notification pop up informing you that Cloud and Tifa have the same taste in beachwear.

Finally, the last missable moment is the most obvious of the bunch. During the major battle at Costa del Sol in Chapter 6, choose to help Tifa and Red XIII instead of Aerith and Barret. Helping Tifa out will obviously score you some bonus relationship points and ensure that you don’t accidentally end up romancing Aerith since this is one of the few moments where you have to pick one over the other.

When you reach the Gold Saucer during Chapter 8 of the main story, you’ll tour the facility with Tifa if she’s the party member with the highest relationship level. That’s a good way of testing how much more work you need to put in ahead of the actual romance scene, which takes place later during Chapter 12.
