Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play is currently down because of unknown server crashes. While the Call of Duty developers are working on fixing MW3 Ranked Play, here’s what we know.
Where is MW3 Ranked Play? Offline, explained
We know that Modern Warfare 3 is temporarily disabled. Warzone Ranked Play has also been temporarily disabled. This has been identified by Call of Duty Updates on Twitter (or X).
To keep in the loop, I recommend following Call of Duty Updates on Twitter (or X). They’re good at keeping everyone in the loop on what is happening with errors. This error that is plaguing their servers is something that happened overnight and is still unknown.
Why is MW3 Ranked Play Offline?
The why behind Ranked Play getting pulled offline isn’t clear. Perhaps too many players were getting their ranks reset. Perhaps Ranked Play is what is keeping all players from getting into MW3 and Warzone. We don’t know the why and the when is just as vague.
We don’t know when these errors, including when Ranked Play will get re-enabled. This is why I recommend you follow Call of Duty Updates because it’s there that you’ll get the most up-to-date updates on when Ranked Play is back in MW3 and Warzone. The main error that Call of Duty players are experiencing is the Minot-Hawthorne error that gives the “failed to request daily login” message, and this error will likely get fixed with the server updates.
The bright side is that while the Call of Duty servers are being hit with whatever issue this is, SBMM is offline. I’ve seen many players on Twitter (or X) and Reddit rejoice that SBMM is currently offline. They’re even asking the devs to keep SBMM offline permanently because of how much more enjoyable the game is right now. If you hate SBMM in MW3, now is the perfect time to play… if you can get in.
