It’s not uncommon for games such as Modern Warfare 3 to encounter some bugs from time to time. But, the latest error that players are running into is perhaps one of the worst I’ve seen in recent memory. Here’s what we know about your rank resetting in MW3.
Modern Warfare 3: Why has my rank reset?
The new bug surfaced Friday morning, as it appears the multiplayer and zombie servers have completely broken across the board for players worldwide. While this would normally be fine, as it would just take an hour or so before Sledgehammer resolved this issue, some players are noticing that their rank and class levels have been reset to one.
The bug itself doesn’t affect any of the weapons and attachments that you’ve already unlocked, so you aren’t restricted to using the basic bare-bones classes. However, many players are reporting that they’ve logged in to see their class level reverted to Level 1, and they, therefore, cannot unlock any other weapons that they haven’t gotten yet.
Has Sledgehammer Games Responded About the Bug?
A wild bug to say the least, and we’re still waiting to hear from Sledgehammer Games, as they’ve yet to report on the issue, and players are rightfully so up in arms about this.
The major server issues have also seemingly affected skill-based matchmaking, as players have noted that the lobbies they’re encountering are much easier than yesterday. So, maybe a positive note amidst the chaos that is MW3 right now.
As always, we’ll be sure to update this page as Sledgehammer Games responds, as we suspect that they’re working on this issue right away. So, be sure to check back often, as player progression should be back in no time.
