There are tons of improvements and balancing fixes in the game with Sons of the Forest 1.0. If you want to read that full list, check out the full patch notes.

We know we’re getting Raccoons. Raccoons were in The Forest but, as seen in the Sons of the Forest 1.0 trailer, Raccoons are coming back. They can climb trees and look to mainly stick to the forest areas.

From the small snippet of Timmy shooting a mutant in an underground hallway, we know that the story is getting revamped. Endnight Games announced Timmy will play a bigger role in the Sons of the Forest 1.0 campaign. We also see some boss fights in a lava area and a chaotic beach scene with lightning and cannibals attacking a helicopter. Needless to say, the story will be different in Sons of the Forest 1.0.

New Conent In Sons Of The Forest 1.0

The trailer shows a wounded survivor which is a new feature coming in Sons of the Forest 1.0. The survivor is holding a red flare. Maybe we’ll be able to recruit more NPCs to our camp and use them like we do with Kelvin.

A new mutant was showcased in the video and it’s horrifying. This mutant is like Armsy but it’s all legs, so it’s a Legsy. It’s a large mutant that has two long legs for a head. It’s seen clapping its legs together which is… horrible. There’s another new mutant which is a huge stump with three legs and bloody holes all over which is called Holey. It’s taller than the walls on your base and quite thick, too.

To make gliding from your base easier, there’s a new turtle shell jump pad that allows you to spring into the air. They are also adding the GPS onto the golf cart which makes driving around and knowing where you’re going much easier.

We see Solafite Bone Armor on a cannibal which leads me to believe there is new armor in Sons of the Forest 1.0. We also see an artifact that shoots lightning. This will likely be a new element added to the campaign.

Whether you’re brand new or are here for the 1.0 release, there’s a lot to enjoy in Sons of the Forest. The first thing you should do is find a Golf Cart.
