One of the easiest ways to acquire Pal materials is to butcher a Pal that drops what you need. The issue is the Pal in question dies, or at least it should. If you’re curious about a workaround, let me show you a glitch that lets you infinitely farm Pal materials in Palworld.
How to infinitely farm Pal materials in Palworld
Before we begin, I want to preface this guide by saying this is a glitch, which means it could have permanent consequences. I’ve used this trick several times, but I’ve never seen Palworld bug out this bad with anything else. With this in mind, try the glitch at your own risk. I didn’t find this trick myself, and full credit goes to u/yashpwnz on Reddit.
You need three things to make this glitch work: a Butcher’s Knife, a rideable Pal, and the matching Saddle. You can only farm Pal materials using this method if they are rideable.Â
Now for the sadistic part. Summon your Pal and Butcher it. If you’ve never used the Butcher Knife, it replaces the “Pet” command in the action wheel with “Butcher.” Hold the Mount button (F on a keyboard) just after the second hit, and you’ll mount the Pal just before it dies. At this point, you can dismount and withdraw the Pal.Â
I’ve found that resummoning the Pal usually doesn’t work, but if you put it in the Pal box and take it out again, everything returns to normal. You can repeat this process as often as you like and get your Pal Materials each time.
What can go wrong with this glitch?
I’ve noticed the timing is critical. If you mount the Pal early, you’ll fall through the map and need to respawn through the Pause Menu. The big problem is when you respawn, you’ll leave your items under the map, although they typically reappear where you were butchering the Pal. If you mount too late, the Pal dies as if you butchered it normally.Â
If you start falling through the map, you can try to exit the game quickly. Whenever I’ve tried this, I spawn under the map when I restart, so it’s unreliable. Needless to say, this is an unintended interaction, and the developers may patch it out of existence at any moment. Still, it’s a funny glitch that only worsens the more you think about what you’re doing to that poor Pal.
