How to play Co-Op in Nightingale

This open-world survival crafting game has a lot of gamers excited to try it out, but how does the co-op multiplayer work in Nightingale?

While you can play this game alone, there’s a multiplayer aspect that can allow you to play with some friends. Here’s how it works.

How does co-op multiplayer work in Nightingale?

You can explore procedurally-generated Fae Realms in Nightingale, but you don’t have to do it alone. Yes, Nightingale has co-op multiplayer, and you can play with up to six players in one online Realmscape. This is essentially a shared world that you and your friends can play in cooperatively. You can also visit your friends’ Realms, and they can join yours.

Once you craft Realm Cards, you’ll be able to create new Realms and even make them your Respite Realm. You and your friends can all have one Respite Realm together, which will make it your home and your spawn location if you die.

Realms from Realm Cards are tied to each player. If you want a friend of yours to be able to join a Realm you’ve created at any point, you can give them a Player Card. Just remember that this means they’ll be able to destroy your base and loot your chests. Give Player Cards to trusted friends.

Public Realms

Alongside a shared Realmscape, you can create a Public Realm. While crafting a Realm Card you can make it a Public Realm which allows random players from around the world to join your Realm. They’ll simply have to craft the same Realm Card as you and pick the option to have it be a joinable Public Realm.

As a reminder, Public Realms are also vulnerable to griefing and stealing, so you never know who you’re going to get with a Public Realm.

Is there PVP?

Unfortunately, Nightingale is not a PVP game. It’s PVE, meaning you and other players can work together and cooperate to fight against the dangers of the Fae Realms.

Since the game launches in Early Access, this could be a feature implemented in the future. But for now, you’ll have to work alongside other players.
