Nexon Initiative Returns With $1m Sponsorship For Indie Devs

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

The rather sci-fi sounding ‘Nexon Initiative’ is, for a second year, going to sponsor development of PC-based indie projects and has a fund of $1m USD to use.
Nexon are “interested in finding original, unique and promising projects at an early stage of development in order to sponsor (and in cases co-develop) and later on publish through our global network.” Full details on how to submit your idea, work-in-progress or finished game are to be found on the Nexon site.
Before you prepare to submit your hardcore, single-player RPG title though, it’s worth knowing that Nexon are “primarily looking for online PC games that are widely accessible, have broad, universal appeal and encourage community interaction. As such, we are primarily looking for online PC games or games on the PC platform that have heavy social components.”
That’s not to say that a single-player-only game has no chance, but it’d probably have to be outstanding. Game designs with cross-platform components also appear to be welcome, as long as the primary platform is PC.
