If farming, crafting, and building weren’t enough for you, well, how about some bounty hunting? Here is how to get the Scavenger Matron Head in Enshrouded.
Enshrouded: How to get Scavenger Matron Head
If you ever are tasked with gathering an item with the word “head” on it, you know that you are into some major fighting. This is the case with the Scavenger Matron Head, which is an item that drops after defeating one Scavenger Gorger Matron. While it may sound terrifying, the fact is that the Matron is very easy to fight, as long as you time your attacks and you know where to look.
You will find her at the Hill of Scavengers, which is located northeast of the Springlands Ancient Spire. You can jump from the tower and glide all your way there – and there’s a Spark right in the middle of the way there.
Once you arrive, you will have to defeat a good amount of bandits and wolves. They are all level 7, so they shouldn’t pose a major threat if you are at level 5 or above. Be sure to collect the Metal Scraps they drop, those can come in handy for some future crafting and they are a headache to collect. Continue to defeat them and climb the hill. As you might expect, the Scavenger Gorger Matron is there waiting for you.
The fight itself is pretty simple. The Matron has two different attacks which involve poison. She will throw poison projectiles at you that will leave behind a pool of poison and, if you there getting close to her, she will spit poison directly at you, which can be fatal. Timing is your best ally here, so make sure to approach here and deal the most amount of damage via your melee attacks. Dodge when she throws her projectiles, and stop attacking when she begins to telegraph her spit attack. You can also throw some Explosive Powder Balls to do some damage and even entrap her underground. I did a combination of both as well as hit her with some Wand magic.
Rewards for defeating the Scavenger Gorger Matron in Enshrouded
Once you defeat her, you can collect your Scavenger Matron Head. It looks more like a helmet really, but I guess the developers didn’t want to risk hurting sensibilities with a literal severed head. Anyway, you can use this item to craft a trophy and you will unlock the Improved Grappling Hook recipe. Seems like a good loot for the day!
Be sure to keep your distance whenever possible and try your best to avoid her incoming poison damage. If you need a break, just jump down from the hill and heal yourself. You can then resume your fight with the Matron. Don’t forget to repair your weapons when you’re done!
