Classes set Enshrouded apart from the other survival crafting games. You’re in the right place if you want to learn what the best class is in Enshrouded.
What is the best class in Enshrouded?
Enshrouded features three colored paths in its skill tree: red, blue, and green. Each colored path contains your stereotypical RPG tropes like warrior, rogue, and wizard, but they each branch off into four individual classes, making the total number of classes in Enshrouded 12.

In general, red is the best, green is second, and blue is the worst. The Enshrouded skill tree is fluidly connected, which is why I recommend investing a little bit into every colored path, but red has the best classes because it features the best melee skills, which is the most effective way of engaging in combat and it has armor skills that increase your survivability.
I think the best class in Enshrouded is Warrior with Tank being a close second. Down the Warrior branch, you’ll find many skills that buff your melee attacks. In the Tank class, you’ll find skills that give you more armor.
All Enshrouded classes, ranked
Here is my list of all the classes in Enshrouded ranked best to worst:
- Warrior
- Tank
- Survivor
- Barbarian
- Athlete
- Battlemage
- Wizard
- Assassin
- Ranger
- Trickster
- Healer
- Beastmaster
Warrior and Tank are the best classes in Enshrouded because they offer the best combat skills. Survivor is excellent because it features a lot of skills to make your stamina stronger which is important when exploring and fighting.
Barbarian and Athlete are solid picks; Barbarian is good for two-handed weapon lovers and Athlete is good for more stamina while focusing on melee. Battlemage is the opposite of Athlete in that it focuses on melee with magical elements played into it.
If you want to go all in on magic, Wizard is the best class. Assassin and Ranger are the two best classes if you want to go all in on using a bow and arrow, but in my experience, that playstyle isn’t too strong.
Trickster doesn’t have that many skills and what it does have isn’t that strong. Healer isn’t a class you should go down unless you’re playing with friends and aren’t leveling up fast enough to face the high enemies you’re encountering. I recommend avoiding Beastmaster entirely because it’s too situational.
The class system is fun in Enshrouded, but something that is even more fun is the building system. Building scared me at first, which is why I created the seven best beginner tips to start building in Enshrouded.
