The best weapons, armor, and rings are all you need in Enshrouded to be successful in the action-adventure side of the game. In this guide, I’ll detail what the best early craftable weapons are in Enshrouded and then cover where to find the best weapons, armor, and rings in the open world.
Best craftable weapon in Enshrouded
I found the most success with the Wand in Enshrouded. In fact, even now when I discover all kinds of weapons, I still seek out and favor Wands because they deal incredible ranged damage to a wide variety of enemies, depending on the element.

You should have a Club in your back pocket for when enemies get too close. You’ll replace that fairly quickly as you begin to explore and discover better gear. In general, I would avoid the Bow and the Staff in the early game. You’ll find better versions of those later in the game and you’ll have no problem taking enemies out with the Wand and Club in the beginning.
Where to find the best weapons, armor, and rings early in Enshrouded
To upgrade your arsenal in Enshrouded, you need to venture into the open world and find chests. Weapons are the most common, armor is less common, and rings are rare. Here are all the locations I had the best luck finding each.
Best locations to find weapons in Enshrouded
Weapons are the most common reward from chests in Enshrouded. You’ll find a lot of weapons as you adventure through just about every marked and unmarked point of interest. While exploring a POI, make sure to look out for glowing blue chests because those feature the weapons with the highest rarity, which often equates to higher damage, more bonus stats, and more enhancements.
I’ve found weapons in marked and unmarked villages, mines, caves, and dungeons. In my experience, it’s common for a point of interest to have a building with stairs leading down to a dungeon area. These areas often have one to three glowing blue chests with good weapons in them.
Make sure you’re leveled up high enough to use those new weapons by reading our guide on leveling up fast and racking up Skill Points in Enshourded.
To help you find some specific pieces, there’s a Hunter’s Bow in the catacombs under the south side of Rookmore which is east of Braelyn Bridge. There’s a good starter Hammer found in a hidden chest behind a secret door at Ancient Vault – Blacksmith. Lastly, a Legendary Ornate Wood Bow is located on the second floor of the house in the southwest part of Rookmore past the rubble rock wall with explosive barrels in it. You can climb up the back if you don’t want to lockpick the door.
Best locations to find armor in Enshrouded
At the start of the game, you’ll find the best armor in Enshrouded is craftable through the Blacksmith. The best route you can take with armor is to start with the Rags in Manual Crafting, then upgrade to Fur from the Blacksmith, and then the Rising Fighter Set from the Blacksmith.
After obtaining a full Rising Fighter Set, you’ll be around the point in the game where I started finding great armor in the open world. Enshrouded features many points of interest that usually hold better weapons and gear. Much of the armor, weapons, and rings I’ve found in Enshrouded are from dungeon dives in random, unmarked locations.
My best advice is to plunder unmarked locations, especially if they feature a dungeon, because they usually hold at least one item that is better than what you have. Glowing blue chests often have good gear, so keep an eye out for those, especially when they are hidden behind secret walls.
I’ve had the best luck with finding armor in catacombs and Ancient Spires. Any location that features the gray table with three lines under the icon on the map usually harbors good armor. Ancient Spires are also brimming with loot, so take care to comb over everything before reaching the top.
Best locations to find rings in Enshrouded
Rings are the most rare item you’ll stumble across in Enshrouded. As is the case with armor, rings are also found in glowing blue chests found in unmarked and marked locations scattered throughout Enshrouded. Luckily, the game rewards you with exploration, so don’t be afraid to loot every point of interest you come across.
Some of the places I’ve had the most luck finding rings in Enshrouded are bandit camps which feature the red sword and arrow cross icon. There are a lot of chests lying around in these places, and in my experience, it’s more common to find rings here. That said, rings can be found in any location throughout Enshrouded just like weapons and armor.
Enshrouded isn’t only about getting the best equipment. The build mode is another pillar of gameplay worth investing time into. Whatever you decide to do in Enshrouded, make sure to do it with friends.
