One of the most anticipated survival games of 2024 has to be Enshrouded, but does it have a co-op multiplayer mode?
Many survival games allow you to play with your friends, so we’ll go over if you can do the same in Enshrouded, and how it all works.
Enshrouded: Is it co-op multiplayer?
Luckily, Enshrouded allows you to play co-op multiplayer with up to 16 players! Most online survival games will typically allow up to play with four players at once, but it’s nice to see this open-world survival crafting game give you extra room for a few more friends.
Releasing in Early Access on January 24, you’re perfectly capable of playing Enshrouded by yourself. But the dangerous fog and vicious enemies may be too much for you to handle alone. Not only that, but a huge base with only you to run it isn’t that fun.

You and 15 other players can survive, craft, fight, and build all in one world together. Of course, you’ll have to be online for this co-op experience, but if you want to play it alone, single-player is available offline. Keen Games confirmed this on the Enshrouded FAQ.
The FAQ continues to say that playing with a friend is just more fun than surviving alone, as it strongly encourages you to play in co-op. For now, you don’t have to worry about crossplay, since it’s only available on Steam. Eventually, the developer wants to bring it to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S upon its full release.
Since Keen Games built Enshrouded as a cooperative RPG, I highly recommend you play this with a few friends. Venturing alone may be your only option, but your experience will be a lot more enjoyable with other players.
