Apogee and Interceptor’s shiny-looking remake of classic shooter Rise of the Triad will be out on 31 July, apparently.
But wait, that’s not all! If you pre-order before 31 July, you get the newly-released Apogee Throwback Pack for free! Which contains… oh. It contains the original Rise of the Triad, its expansions Dark War and Extreme Rise of the Triad (thus proving that labeling things as EXTREME didn’t start with the Xbox), Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold, and Blake Stone: Planet Strike. Sadly, the Blake Stone games were a bit rubbish. Still, I guess if the new Rise of the Triad isn’t much cop, this at least means you’ve got the old one.
The Apogee Throwback Pack costs £7 stand-alone, while pre-ordering the new Rise of the Triad is only £12. Can’t argue getting a £7 set of games for free with something that costs £12, though you might argue that the Throwback Pack shouldn’t cost £7 in the first place.
