Is Buckshot Roulette coming to consoles?

Is this breakout indie hit coming to PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch?

Buckshot Roulette is the first indie hit of the year, and content creators have been milking the game for videos and streams across YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch. While it’s fun to watch, many console games want to try it themselves.

As is the case with many breakout indies, it’s not on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch yet. Seeing the game’s overwhelming success on PC, though, a console port may be in the works sometime soon. Here’s what you need to know about Buckshot Roulette coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox, or Switch.

Is Buckshot Roulette Coming to PlayStation or Xbox?

Currently, a console port of Buckshot Roulette has not been announced. The game was just released on December 28, 2023, just before the turn of the new year, so there hasn’t been much time since launch. With that being said, Buckshot Roulette is seeing a ton of success, especially for a game that’s not even on Steam (more on that later), so there’s a chance that a wider release could happen sometime down the line.

If you want to play Buckshot Roulette right now, you’ll have to buy the game on indie site itch.io. It’s only a little more than a dollar to purchase and play, and you can download either a Windows or Linux version. There’s not a Mac version yet, though, but that might be something that’s added sometime later this year since the game is getting a lot of attention.

Developer Mike Klubnika has a bunch of other horror games that you can download and play on itch.io and a collection of short horror games called Unsorted Horror on Steam. Most of Klubnika’s projects are free to download with the exception of Buckshot Roulette and Unsorted VHS, which is another collection of short horror titles.

Even if Buckshot Roulette doesn’t end up making its way to consoles, the game runs very well on low-end PCs and it only costs a dollar. Even if you only have a simple laptop, you can still probably enjoy Buckshot Roulette yourself instead of holding out hope for a console port. Other recent indie hits like Only Up still haven’t been announced for consoles yet, so a potential console version of Buckshot Roulette is still a long way out if it ever happens.
