Today, December 19, Fortnite got hit with an update. Let’s go over everything that was changed or added to keep you up to date. Even though there are no major content updates coming, it’s still important to know the finer details.
All known changes with the Fortnite Update
Here are all the changes that have hit Fortnite with this new update, which affects Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival!
Fortnite Battle Royale
Since the movement animation changes, many players have been saying that movement now feels more sluggish and slower. To address this, Epic Games has increased movement speed and updated the animations.
The weapon icons for the Frenzy Auto Shotgun and the Thunder Burst SMG have been altered, to allow you to better differentiate between them.
Medallions are now easier to read on the map, which will alleviate frustration for many.
Visibility during the night and at Storm’s Edge have been improved.
LEGO Fortnite
An official statement was released that tells us that food items have been buffed. This means we’ll have to bring less food when adventuring and that we can travel for much longer without having to return or stop for food. This is certainly a great change, but it’s not all.
Also, certain items can now be stacked to 50, instead of the 30 hardcap before the update. I’m so glad they’ve listened to this feedback, as storage and inventory space was so limiting with stack sizes of only 30.
Finally, you will no longer be eliminated while traveling between the world and the caves. So fret not, your items will no longer get lost this way.

Rocket Racing
There are only some minor tweaks here, so let’s get them out of the way quickly.
In Rocket Racing, collisions are much less punishing, and you won’t drastically turn if bumped from behind.
The Jackie Outfit Quest has also been patched so that players who are Rank Gold I can complete the quest. Current Gold I players simply need to finish one full race to complete the quest.
Fortnite Festival
Many changes have been released to Fortnite Festival.
Firstly, fall damage has now been deactivated, allowing you to leap around without limits.
The issue of missing song libraries has been fixed.
Temporarily, the “Restart Song” feature has been disabled due to trouble-shooting.
The Leaderboards have also been fixed, so only accurate information shows.
New Cosmetics!
There are only a couple of new things here, but fans of Fortnite Festival will be happy. Shiina brings to our attention two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle instruments.
There we have it, the full patch notes. While you’re here, why don’t you check out all the Winterfest Rewards?
