The Day Before is here and things are not looking so great at the moment. With huge amounts of complaints, a wave of angry The Day Before players are already asking for refunds. Continue reading to know why.
Massive Backlash After the Day Before Launch
Well, the day has come, and The Day Before as well. If you have followed this game’s journey to release, then you know that probably it wouldn’t have the greatest of all launches in video gaming history. But to get one of the worst? Well, that’s exactly what’s happening at this very moment. The number of reports of every single aspect of the game being broken is overwhelming.
From not being able to connect to the game due to absolutely all servers being full, the voice acting being extremely suspicious of being AI-generated, graphics that appear to come from 10 years ago, to the game not being an open-world game at all despite it being marketed as so on its Steam page – it is, in fact, an extraction game a la Escape from Tarkov – and even a failed community statement released the day before The Day Before launch that has pretty much aged like milk. The memes will be priceless. This is pretty much a perfect storm for a terrible launch. And the fact that the game launched the same day that the Video Game Awards 2023 takes place is just the spring of irony that was missing.
Players are filing up the official The Day Before Discord serves with complaints, calls for refunds, calls to not buy the game at all, and the occasional trolling that only makes us giggle a bit. All carry a severe disappointment or sense of confirmation of what can only be described as the biggest fall in Steam from being the most wish-listed game to becoming complete chaos.
The dev’s official website feels like the Sahara desert, with such little life. For now, it seems like there’s little chance of anyone getting any feedback or communication from FNTASTIC (yes, that’s the developer’s name, we really can’t make this stuff up). The silence is deafening. All of it adds insult to what many people regard as one of the best years in gaming history.

Do we have a No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 type of situation in our hands? Will the developers make a 180-degree turn and make up for this disaster of a launch? I seriously doubt it. Only time will tell if this game was real or not. After all, if you are not able to play it, does it even exist? Does the tree make any noise when it falls in the forest with no one around it? Is The Day Before a scam? That’s for you to decide.
