How to get Shell in LEGO Fortnite

A required resource needed to upgrade your Crafting Bench is Shell. If you’re looking to upgrade your Crafting Bench or need Shell for other builds, here’s how to find it in LEGO Fortnite.

The hint the game gives you to find the shell is that it’s left behind by Rollers. These are enemies that are crab-like with rocks covered with greenery for shells.

I’ve found Rollers fairly common in any grassy biome. They can also be found in caves. Just start running around and look for rocks with green foliage on them. To get a Shell, you need to defeat the Roller, which is a lot easier said than done.

If you want to skip defeating a Roller entirely, I’ve had luck getting Shell from Piñatas. To find a Piñata, all you need to do is look for rainbow butterflies. Follow them and you’ll find a Piñata or other useful reward. Pet the Piñata to open it. I’ve also found Shell in chests, especially the ones in caves.

How to defeat Rollers in LEGO Fortnite

Rollers have a ton of health in LEGO Fortnite and they are hard enemies to defeat (pun not intended). When they hit, they hit hard, so make sure you know how to heal.

To defeat a Roller, you need to be careful, take your time, and use dodge and jump. When a Roller gets into a ball and rolls at you, either jump or dodge out of the way. When the Roller has stopped, now’s your time to strike. Get three or four hits in and then back away and wait for the roll attack again. If you’re careful in repeating this process, you’ll defeat a Roller and get Shell.

Hopefully, you get all the Shell you need. At least now you know how to get Shell; it’s just a matter of time before you get all the Shell you’re looking for… until you need more, that is.
