One of the hardest aspects of WoW Classic is navigating the vast open world that Blizzard created in 2004. Getting back from the gloomy Darkshore to the vibrant Stormwind is one route we will take you through.
WoW Classic: How to get from Darkshore to Stormwind
Getting around WoW early on is one of the trickier parts of the game, and for certain races, such as the Night Elves, this will be troubling as their starting zone is quite isolated from everyone else.
These elves will begin their WoW adventure on the island of Teldrassil. If you happen to wander off and don’t want to take the portal of the boat from this location and head to Stormwind, you may find yourself in Darkshore, one of the many locations within Kalimdor.
If you’re an Alliance player looking to make the journey over, there are going to be numerous methods to do so, and we’ve got some listed below.
- If your Hearthstone is still set to Teldrassil, cast this, and head towards the dock to catch the next boat to Stormwind.
- Likewise, you can also use one of the dedicated portals that will directly take you to the capital city.
- If you don’t have your Hearthstone set to Teldrassil, you’ll need to take the boat from Menethil Harbor, which is in Darkshore itself.
- Once complete, you’ll have to swim right from the dock, which should take you directly to Westfall before you get fatigued.

Once you’re in Westfall, the route itself should be pretty simple, as players will need to follow the dedicated route until they reach the iconic checkpoint of houses, which you’ll need to make a left out of.
Now, you’re back in the capital city of the Alliance, and the thunderous music we all know and love should be playing in your ears.
