Coral Island is all about collecting together various items and materials to progress both your relationships and the state of your farm. Eventually, you’re going to need Hardwood in Coral Island to upgrade some of your core buildings and tools. Here’s how to find it.
Before you start actually harvesting Hardwood in Coral Island, you will need to make sure you have the right tools for the job. Your regular axe just won’t cut it. You will need to get yourself a silver axe. This new tool is acquired by heading to the mines and grabbing some silver ore. Once you have some ore, melt it down in the furnace to make Ingots. These can then be used to create the Silver Axe needed to harvest Hardwood.
Hardwood locations in Coral Island
The first load of Hardwood can be found right by the mines, just beside the main waterfall. If you make your way to the bottom right of the waterfall, there should be a darker, more twiggy log sitting there. This is the first piece of Hardwood you can find. However, you cannot harvest it until you have a Silver Axe.
You will find most Hardwood in Coral Island once you have reached the mid and deep forest. In the forest, you will find a lot of dark logs that provide Hardwood. These will respawn every day, so don’t worry about running out. To get to the deep forest, you must give multiple gifts to the lake altar. The mid and deep forests can be found on the west side of the map.
Uses for Hardwood
Hardwood is used to upgrade a lot of your most basic tools and buildings to the next, higher levels. Obviously, regular wood just won’t be good enough. You will need Hardwood for your Coop and Barn Level 2, Gold hoe, pickaxe, and axe, and your Osmium versions of the previous three.
